Walter Baker, CEO as well as Chief Designer of WALTER, began his creative career in finance but always knew he wanted a career in fashion. Since starting his first collection in 1991 Baker, who's passion for detail on is signature jackets, flirty feminine tops and beautiful dresses has made him a darling of prestigious retailers like Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, and style bibles like Vogue, InStyle, Glamour, Harper's Bazaar and Lucky. They all agree on one thing; WALTER translates as not only sexy fun, but also function.

His unique romantic detail is what makes WALTER truly transitional. "My designs can go from day to evening without popping a stitch” he jokes. Baker’s attention to fit and style is what sets him apart from other Contemporary Designers and is what keeps his clients coming back season after season. "The women who wear my clothes appreciate the quality - they know my designs are made of high end fabrics and that I'll never skimp on materials,” says Baker. "My clothes tend to attract uptown girls with a downtown sensibility" says Baker. He never leaves home without his digital camera and sketchbook.
