Sweetwater Tavern & Grille is a 200-seat tavern and grille on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. Sweetwater offers upscale tavern fare in a warm and cozy atmosphere. Inviting warm dark browns and tans, stone columns, and mahogany make Sweetwater the perfect setting for lunch, dinner, happy hour and late night cocktails. Join us in one of our oversized leather booths, or relax in our bar area with comfortable cushioned seats, over 70 craft brewed beers, and 23 flat panel televisions. Sweetwater truly is "where good days meet great nights."

The owners of the Boundary are behind this bar and grill. The decor is noticeably Boundary-esque, featuring big leather booths and dark wood furniture, with walls stacked high with stone and beer coolers packed with around 70 craft brews behind the bar. A wavy wooden ceiling feature jives well with the name, which came from the bar's location (on the corner of South Water Street and Michigan Avenue) and its solid stock of your favorite kind of sweet water, from beer to spirits. The food menu is based off of the Boundary's, with a few modifications. New dishes include the mouth-watering pepperjack cheese and bacon-wrapped Cajun shrimp, delicious sesame-crusted ahi tuna salad, a handful of pasta dishes and a must-try oversized skillet cookie. Other special features include a glassed-in room for 16 with its own AV system and flat-screen TVs, which is ideal for a private party. A 150-seat TV-equipped beer garden and weekend brunch are in the works for spring 2010. Sweetwater is a great new addition to Chi Town, and is a fun place to grab lunch with friends as well as a lively destination for a round of drinks at night. The atmosphere is relaxed yet upscale and classy, and all of the patrons seem to be in for a good time. If you are planning on coming to Sweetwater at night, stop in around 9PM for a casual yet yummy dinner, and stick around for a round of cocktails or beer. The place gets rather lively, so bring your partying shoes.
