WHAT: A sinful blend of fine dining and debauchery, for three years The Box has been keeping Lower East Side audiences entertained with sizzling burlesque shows and strong drinks. Housed in a historic 1935 bi-level brick building, a nondescript, graffitied stage door gives no hint to the delights inside. The Box is a throwback to New York's vaudeville shows, the roaring 20's and the Hammerstein Ballroom – as envisioned by the infamous Oscar's grandson, Simon, one of the three owners paying homage to the city's rich entertainment history. Part concert saloon, part cabaret dinner theatre, The Box hosts all types of live entertainment, from bands and live acts to parties and exclusive private functions.
WHO: Favored by all the city's beautiful people, The Box is typically packed with models, musicians, wealthy elites and anyone else who can squeeze in. Jude Law and Rachel Weisz are advising board members, while young stars including Katy Perry, Whitney Port, Kate Moss and Blake Lively are known to make appearances.
For a taste of authentic, unrefined New York in an indulgent luxury setting you won't find anywhere else. For bottle service and after hours entertainment unparalleled in speakeasy sophistication. For provocative, tongue-in-cheek performances that leave you wondering what you just witnessed… and craving more.
Catch a live performance during the week (if you dare), otherwise get yourself on the list and arrive early on a Fri or Sat night to see and be seen.
