San Francisco's "Prohibition playground" complete with a slide, for reals, a slide.
Who: San Franciscan Urbanites paying homage to bootlegged fun.
A throwback to the days of prohibition, this modern-day speakeasy is a 8,000 ft mahogany playground for adults. There are two ways to enter this moody, cave-like bar: descending the stairs or through the custom-made, serpentine slide for the more adventurous!
Once inside the main space, digital video screens flash images of San Francisco and booths of various sizes take up most of the wall. The inventive, grandiose concept appeals to the younger urban crowd of uninhibited dancers and those willing to drop a minimum of $10 for a cocktail. Slide isn't quite the place to just sit and chill; however, booth reservations are available for parties of at least four and a one-bottle minimum is required.
Weekends can get pretty crowded. To ensure entrance past the highly selective bouncers, be sure to put your name on the guest list.
