Meet Mr. Smith, the fictitious gentleman behind the very real – and nearly perfect – triple-level speakeasy on shadowy 7th Street. A gritty, hidden entrance leads to stunning pleasures: soaring exposed brick walls, polished dark wood paneling, retro wallpaper in silvery magenta, and Capiz shell chandeliers. Defined as a "warm and sexy" enclave, Mr. Smiths boasts three levels including a main bar area with a plethora of seating, a VIP lounge with its own bar and bottle service availability, and a deep dark dance floor bumping on the basement level.

WHO: San Francisco scene makers including Taye Diggs, Mayor Gavin Newsom, the late DJ AM, and Will-I-Am of the Black Eyed Peas and Carson Daly have all enjoyed a nightly escape from reality with the help of Mr. Smith.

Begin your night with Mr. Smith on the upstairs VIP balcony, enjoying the private bar, luxe settees, and a prime view. Not your thing? Head to the main floor, order a cocktail, and soak up the loungy atmosphere. Still too refined? Dive into the underground world, where the DJ spins and hipsters rock to the beat of everything from 80's classic hits to modern house. Enjoy half-priced happy hour at Mr. Smiths from 4:30-8pm Tuesday to Friday, stay until closing time if you like, and return on Saturday from 8pm-2am to get your groove on.
