Greenhouse is New York City's first L.E.E.D. registered eco-friendly club. More of a lounge than a dance party, Greenhouse is contained in a bi-level 6,000 square foot dream house constructed entirely of recycled or recyclable materials, including bamboo walls and LED lightbulbs casting an incandescent glow on the crowd. It's worth it to come just to see the walls and tables covered in foliage, and stay for mixed format music ranging from live bands on Mondays to DJ's on the weekends and a special gay-friendly Sunday night. Among Greenhouse Nightclub's most spectacular attributes is the transparent ceiling fixture, comprised of over 5,000 individually hung crystals, which is designed to emulate a rolling landscape and the bars which are comprised of clear recycled glass panorama designs, and display lush natural scenes. If you're in the mood for luxury, you can enjoy $375 sustainable vodka at one of the VIP tables… or simply wash your hands with Brad Pitt's fair-trade soap featured in the low-impact bathrooms!

In a city filled with endless nightclub options, Greenhouse offers a unique, naturalistic edge that can't be beat. The décor alone is enough to provide a reason to go, and it feels good for an eco-fashionista to read "Recycle, it's good for the earth" printed at the bottom of your bar tab.

This exclusive venue is known to turn away many at the door, so arrive early and charm the promoters outside to secure the "green" key. In typical New York fashion, arrive around midnight as things heat up around 1am and the Greenhouse stays hot until well after 4am.

Dress to impress in zippered skinnies, a slouchy top and statement accessories. It won't hurt to show off your vegan olsenHaus heels here, and definitely stay away from leather!
