Two words: Spicy Margarita! If you are a lover of spicy foods and spicier margaritas (for reals), El Carmen es tu amor. Fresh chunks of jalapeno dance around in El Carmen’s signature drink, offering taste buds something out of the ordinary. For those who vibe a more traditional drink, there’s Patron or a Mexjito, a yummy tequila-infused Mojito. To balance out the Margis, munch on yummy chips and salsa or tacos perfectos from the small yet tasty bar menu. While the food and drinks may seem traditional with a few special kicks thrown in, the décor inside El Carmen is unique to say the least. Velvet paintings of Mexican wrestlers, bull heads and a nostalgic jukebox are downplayed by hangover-friendly lighting and a laidback atmosphere.

While the kitschy spot attracts a fair share of hipsters, there’s also your token trendy PR girls.
