A dark, diamond-in-the-rough den where East meets West, East is a tempting lounge meets restaurant featuring Japanese French fusion cuisine and some of the most inventively killer drinks on the Hollywood block. Fantastic ambiance, including what seems to be a dark floral garden on the ceiling, with dim candles burning and a fire burning in the front window, make this place a perfect choice for a date or for drinks before a night at Teddy's. Plus, the sushi is top notch.

First, the cocktails. Try the Absolut Pear, lychee, sage and honey lavendar martini. Trust me, it will knock your socks off. Or, if you are in the mood for something a bit more savory, try the Thai basil passionfruit martini. Both are delicious and quite memorable. Appetizer wise, the Hamachi Sashimi (with a scrumptious soy lime drizzle) is a must. The scene here is kinky meets mischievous, so be prepared. Newly opened, East is a true treasure.

I would suggest stopping by on a Friday or Saturday night, grabbing some sashimi and a martini, and snuggling up in the cozy lounge in front before a wild night out. Or, if you are coming to East as the main event, grab a plush booth in the back for a delicious culinary experience sure to dazzle your tastebuds.
