In Short – Aging celebs, sports legends and a group of deeply tanned babes cram into Dan Tana's red leather booths. Charming and unpretentious despite its clientele, the tightly packed rooms swarm with high-pitched good cheer and the bustle of tuxedoed waiters. Taking its cue from '50s-era red-sauce joints, the simple Italian menu is loaded with garlic. Entrees include Italian classics like penne, spaghetti and gnocchi. For dessert, cheesecake is a perfect complement to the semi-permanent halo of garlic.

In addition to the fact that you might spot a celeb (recently Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have all been caught getting their share of Italian cuisine here), the food is really unbeatable. As for my suggestions, I would say to start with the Caesar salad (one of the best in the city) and (if you are a meat eater) the New York steak. It is seasoned to perfection and melts in your mouth. Don't forget the pasta! This is a great place to use up all the carb points you've been saving. The atmosphere here is cozy and homey, and comes complete with red checkered table cloths and very attentive waiters. If you are visiting LA, this landmark is definitely one to check out.

Drop in for an early dinner (the restaurant opens at 5PM nightly) or, if you are a night owl, get your Tana's fix late-night and hit up the restaurant before it closes at 1:30AM nightly. I would definitely recommend a reservation, as this hot spot fills up fast. Even with a res, be prepared to sip a martini at the cozy (read: crowded) bar while your table is prepared.

Go for old Hollywood glamour. Pair a sparkly dress with a faux-fur vest or a leather jacket, and keep the heels high. Just make sure you are prepared for a spill, as all entrees are served with a side of yummy spaghetti.
