In 2007 Sydney Azria launched a sportswear/lifestyle collection knows as Sydney Los Angeles. This L.A. based designer was born in Paris in 1979 and shortly later moved to Los Angeles, which greatly shaped his vision into the fashion world. Sydney grew up in Los Angeles surrounded by fashion influences of the city as well as the fashion influences of his family.
He studied at the University of Santa Cruz and in London at Goldsmiths College of fine arts. Sydney returned to Los Angeles where he spent a year in film production with Industry Entertainment. Realizing that his true passion was design, he spent the next six years in the fashion industry absorbing the experience he would eventually need to create his own line.
Today, he has made his dream a reality with the launching of Sydney Los Angeles, a true representation of California lifestyle. The essence of Sydney Los Angeles is to capture and to recreate the innocence of old school Los Angeles. Sydney’s inspirations come from classic Hollywood, modern funk and a desire to make a woman feel alive and care free. The luscious prints and bold solids give the line a sexy and clever look. With a streetwise femininity and hip edge, Sydney offers a fresh approach to a lifestyle line. A true prodigy, at 28, Azria offers a combination of Hollywood’s classic elegant echo’s of the past with a touch of upbeat edge.
