Danielle believes that true New Yorkers have a preppy side which manifests itself in the color schemes of each collection. The bold patterns found on the pieces are juxtaposed by the effortless and elegant style of the dresses and tops. The vivid motifs and subtle detailing are the perfect balance of sophistication and whim. This attainable luxury is made to travel. Born on the Upper East Side, Danielle watched on as her mother designed a clothing line of her own. The first four years of her life were spent beside her mother at her cutting table. Danielle graduated from Northwestern where she studied journalism and film. With no formal training except what her mother taught her and a keen eye for fashion, Danielle launched the Prairie New York collection in 2003. Danielle is happily married with a handsome 3 year old son named Sam.
