The hottest sunglass of Spring 04 is, without a doubt, Oliver Peoples oversized plastic La Donna sunglass. Charlize Theron and Renee Zellweger have been seen wearing the luxury frame. Chief Designer of Oliver Peoples, Larry Leight, feels extremely honored that both of the top two actresses have chosen his design. Leight’s inspiration for his Spring 04 collection was to design luxurious and glamorous sunglasses fit for a starlet. Because his intention for the La Donna was to be worn on award winning faces of Hollywood, he feels much rewarded that both Theron and Zellweger have become fans of Oliver Peoples. He humbly states, “I am flattered that these two beautiful and extremely talented actresses have chosen Oliver Peoples.”
Best Actress, Charlize Theron, was seen wearing the La Donna sunglass in transparent honey gold color at the Independent Spirit Awards the day before she won the Oscar. A week later, Leight was further impressed when Best Supporting Actress, Renee Zellweger came into his Sunset boutique and purchased the La Donna in black.
Not bad for the best actress and the best supporting actress to be rocking Oliver Peoples’ hottest sunglass of the new season. Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills cannot keep the La Donna in stock. It has been their fastest selling sunglass design of the season.
