Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez was born in New Jersey in 1961 to Cuban parents. He studied at Parsons School of Design in New York, and upon graduation worked for design powerhouses such as Anne Klein, TSE, Calvin Klein and Cerruti. His women's ready-to-wear signature collection debuted in Spring 1998 in Milan, and made it into virtually every major fashion magazine. Rodriguez's American experience and Latin roots, combined with his flair for European tradition of fine design, are integral to hi ssuccess. He won Best New Designer from the VH1 Fashion Awards in 1997 and a CFDA Perry Ellis Award in 1998 and was awarded Hispanic Designer of the Year 1997, an honor that has also gone to such designers as Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera.
