Nanette Lepore

Known for her bold colors, evocative prints and signature silhouettes, Nanette Lepore has become one of the leading names in contemporary American fashion. Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Nanette began styling the kids in the neighborhood at the young age of nine. Encouraged by her parents to explore her creative side, Nanette traveled to New York City where she pursued a fashion design degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She married painter Robert Savage but struggled to find a stable career. Her husband encouraged her to try to make it on her own and the couple set up shop in an office in the garment district. The gypsy lifestyle she lead as a child in Ohio became an inspiration for her creativity and the Nanette Lepore brand quickly became one of the leading names in contemporary American fashion. Her line has gained a lot of attention since and has gained celebrity fans such as Michelle Obama, Nicki Minaj, Scarlett Johansson, Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, and Kristin Chenoweth.

Today, Nanette Lepore has grown into an international brand that offers women's apparel, swimwear, accessories and fragrance. Nanette Lepore has shops across the United States, Europe, and Asia including boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, Bal Harbour, Chicago, Las Vegas, Boston, London and Tokyo. She remains in the Garment Center of New York and has become a spokesperson for efforts to protect the Garment Center and raise awareness and demand for American-made clothing.
