Hotel Cafe

I saw her play at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles a month or so ago and she was amazing. If you have the time, I suggest going to see her perform. She's great live. I think she's playing again at that venue. Its small and intimate. Make it if you can.

Knitting Factory Show!

I just saw them at the Knitting Factory last night and it was AMAZING!! SO GOOD!Im definitely going to get their cd! Does anyone know when they play next in LA??

New Religion

I absolutely love her new song "New Religion". I cannot wait until her album "For Lovers, Dreamers and Me" drops on October 30. I'm so excited! It's going to be amazing. I have yet to see her perform live, but scored some rad tickets to her show at the Mercury Lounge in New York in November. Check her out, she's like a combination of Norah Jones and Alicia Keys. LOVE.

Minipop is the indie music lover's dream! I can't wait for the debut album to drop on Nov. 6th... and they definitely need to make an appearence or two down in southern california.

Wendy Darling is a GREAT little Indie band that brings a little something new to the music scene. Its got a great upbeat jazzy sound and the vocal Cori Rush is a breath of fresh air!

Crystal UZI

I'm so in love with her album cover for "Anchors and Anvils". The crystal UZI just makes me thing of how different and up-and-coming her music is. I admire how she can play the bass and the guitar AND sing!! I love when musicians can play all the instuments in their band. She's just got such a classic beauty and her unique voice makes her live shows all the more incredible to experience.

Meiko's better than Mika.

Don't confuse them...Meiko is a great FEMALE singer. Not Mika...although he's alright in conparison. Totally differnt sound. Meiko is fun, light-yet deep. Great any mood music. Mika: a little overwhelming if you ask me, too theatrical.

so good it's scary

I read somewhere that this band is "so good it's scary" and I completely agree. The vocalist has a wonderfully breathy voice, and the instrumentals are out of this world.

Wish You Dead...

No, I dont wish them dead. I love this song!!! My favorite song off the SweetSound cd. They kind of remind me of The Killers but with a girl singing.
