CELEBRITY STYLE BLOG: DO YOU KNOW HOW TO WIND HER UP?

Gwen Stefani has been making the rounds promoting her new album The Sweet Escape, and her uber-successful yodeling inspired first single "Wind It Up". She was seen in New York on December 9 wearing the hottest sunglasses of the season, Tom Ford's Whitney Sunglasses, with a black and red plaid vest, as she left her hotel. It has also recently been announced that Mrs. Stefani will be joining the ranks of Britney, Celine, JLo, Hilary, and Paris in that she will launch her own signature perfume in 2007. Gwen signed a deal with Coty Fragrances (who produces Sarah Jessica Parker's successful line of scents) that will tie into her popular L.A.M.B. fashion line. It seems like whatever this girl sets her mind to do, she goes out and does it the best and with the most originality. Geez, Gwen has already successfully conquered the fashion and handbag world, next up: World Domination!

STYLE TIP: LEGS FOR DAYS

Want to make your legs look super long for seasons to come? It's as easy as matching your tights to your shoe color! The continual line of color makes your foot disappear into one lean leg. A slate grey platform with a matching nylon looks so fresh under a glittery shift, or perhaps a nude stocking with a clear Lucite pump?

If you can't be bothered to run around the hosiery department with wedges and fabric swatches in hand remember that black always matches black. For the ultimate lean look, wear slimming black tights with a black pair of tall platforms.

Don't be bashful to the legging; no matter your age or shape, a stocking adds polish to wardrobe pieces like a long short or dress. Plus they slip right into this season's hottest boots, adding height and drama (the kind you want).

DESIGNER OF THE WEEK: STACO WOO

Upon meeting Staci Woo, "frenzied designer" is not the first thing that pops into your mind. The impression instead is one of calm. Yes, calm. Rather than a fury of lipstick and heels, Staci is a woman that could explain algebra to a six-year old. Her motions are fluid, her expressions sincere, and her design space a quiet oasis of creativity.

This native Northern California gal moved south after studying art at the University of California, Santa Barbara. While in school, Staci worked at a local swimwear company and made her splash into the fashion industry. However, her real break came in 1995, as assistant designer to Adriano Goldschmied for A. Gold E.

"It was a humbling experience," she says of her days in the trenches. "I was young. Adriano taught me not just about design, but how to see things. He'd rush into the office holding up a pair of dirty blue jeans or an old tee shirt and exclaim, 'Do you see it! Isn't it fantastic!?'"

While toiling for Adriano, Staci began crafting on her own. She whipped up sling bags for personal use that soon became coveted possessions of friends and family. One became two, two three, and thus, in 1997 Woo was born. By 2002, Woo had collected a smart following based on simple yet innovative uses of recycled cashmere and vintage aloha prints. From what began as a bag and intimates collection has now expanded into a unique and fresh line designed for those seeking casual luxe. Each piece is an essential; created with the softest supima cottons and tencels mixed with lace trimming and inspiring prints.

Woo compliments every contour of a woman's body in a sophisticated and feminine approach. Her delicious materials are perfect for living and enjoying life to its fullest! Check out the latest from Woo like her graceful Ginger Dress in Plum Tree or the comfortable Short Sleeve Henley ivory to name a few.

Woo has graced the pages of fashion magazines like Cosmopolitan, Fitness, Fit Pregnancy, Glamour, In Style, Los Angeles, Lucky, Organic Style, Shape, and WWD and can be spotted on today most popular TV shows like Desperate Housewives and the OC.
