CELEBRITY STYLE BLOG: IT'S ABOUT TIME!

Mischa Barton stepped out with boyfriend Cisco Adler and went shopping at Tower Records on October 22, looking much more stylish than we’ve seen her lately! When she stepped out recently in the atrocious buttoned orange skirt contraption and the powerful statement tee that read “DROP KNOWLEDGE NOT BOMBS”, many high-ups in the fashion world, as well as random gossipers, were left questioning if the sand through Mishca’s fashionista hourglass was finally running out. I think it is safe to say that there is still hope for Misch yet. Although her character Marissa is dead on “The OC”, this little sighting proves that her style is still alive and kicking!

In the first time in a while that Misch has opted for jeans, there is no better pair to pick than Siwy’s superfine Michelle Slimfit Jean in Cherish. In a darker, dirty wash, these jeans are perfect for running errands with your boyfriend, and can also double as night-out jeans. Mixed with a funky beaded necklace, let's hope Misch is on the up-and-up with her fashion choices!

STYLE TIP: SACRED WARDROBE STAPLES

Before we get dolled up for the holiday's festive bashes, its important to note that anything goes this season especially when it comes to evening wear. Yes, fashion has gone Avant Garde combining and juxtaposing non-traditional pieces with sacred wardrobe staples. Don't be surprised if you spot Kirsten Dunst pairing her chic Proenza Schouler cocktail dress with a leather bomber jacket. Adding a bit of masculine Rock and Roll to Haute Couture is so fresh and combining textures like silk and leather are a feast for the eyes.

Rocker meets Couture, Targét meets Designer, sportswear meets evening wear, urban meets lace, cotton meets silk; the possibilities are endless! Like when Raquel Zimmerman paired white motorcycle gloves with a silver Rodarte shift or Kanye West wore a brilliant LRG skeleton hoody to Paris Fashion Week! Try mixing your own wardrobe, choosing from different genres like a deejay mixing sounds. This is a passport to let your best pieces shine and still feel comfortable in your favorite laidback digs.

Real world translation? How about combining your favorite pair of skinny jeans with your mates comfy t-shirt and a coveted heirloom necklace? Or pairing a sparkly sequin shrug with a cotton tank, bangles, and tennis shoes (More All-Stars, less New Balance). Anything goes so start digging out your most cherished pieces and layering them with your most lived-in threads for the freshest looks the season has to offer.

DESIGNER OF THE WEEK: PARKVOGEL

Launched in January 2004, friends and designers Julie Park and Vanessa Vogel set out to create the perfect comfy tee. Their eye for luxurious, chic design and perfect fit keeps branching from swiss-grown cotton basics to intimates, cashmeres and wovens.

The talented duo continues to make a name for themselves in the basic-wear industry. Julia Roberts (beautiful mom on-the-go) is one of their biggest fans, photographed time and again in Park Vogel threads. Other celebrity Park Vogel sightings include, Felicity Huffman, Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Rebecca Romaijn, Avril Levigne, to name a few.

Celebrities and fashionistas alike can feel good about supporting Park Vogel since the company strives to use eco-friendly garment making processes whenever possible. All of their cotton is grown in Switzerland (under strict European environmental standards) and manufactured in an energy-efficient Australian mill that recycles chemicals so they don't go back into the environment.

Forward thinking in manufacturing as well as a fresh, youthful approach to comfortable basics has Park Vogel locked for fashion success in coming collections.
