STYLE TIP: MAYBE IT'S VASELINE

Ever wonder how to get sultry long, dark lashes without the clumpy mess of mascara? Take a tip from your Grandmother's heyday with a dab of Vaseline. Sounds crazy but a little smidge of the shiny stuff will lengthen and condition lashes making for a sultry look and allover healthier lash.

If you can't let go of the black stuff, applying Vaseline to your lashes before bed makes lashes grow longer and thicker. Vaseline also helps conventional mascara glide on smoothly.

Here are some surprising tidbits about mascara:

Back in the day ladies went to impossible lengths (some things will never change) to steal the Hollywood glam-look of the silver screen. For mascara they combined soot or coal ash with Vaseline to achieve the dark de rigueur gazes of film stars, Pola Negri and Clara Bow. Inventor of Vaseline, Augustus Chesebrough (now that's a name) had a stylish sister named Mabel who used the McGyver-esque mascara trick. The two names soon combined to form what we know as Maybelline.

DESIGNER OF THE WEEK: HEATHERETTE

Heatherette is the funkiest, most flavorful clothing line in the fashion industry! Full of sugary, outrageous design, collisions of Americana, Anime, sequins and celebrity, their Warhol-meets-John Galliano aesthetic is taking the world by storm. It's no wonder Heatherette's signature flashy style has been splashed on the pages of Vogue, FLAUNT, InStyle, GQ, Vanity Fair, W, Rolling Stone and so many more.

Such a colorful burst of creative energy can only come from the unique design team of Richie Rich, Traver Rains and their entourage of celebrity muses.

The biographies of the amazing duo are as surprising as the line itself. Richie Rich hails from Northern California and began his career training with Kristi Yamaguchi, as one of the top professional figure skaters in the nation. After touring with Ice Capades, he moved to New York and soon became a professional "Club Kid". If that weren't a diverse enough resume, Richie then recorded a dance album with the two club hits, "Magic" and "Collision".

A true cowboy, Traver Rains grew up on a Montana ranch learning how to ride and rope at a young age. Traver won over 100 different titles at state and national horse shows for his riding skills. Like Richie, he started designing his own performing costumes and simultaneously laying the fashion foundation for Heatherette. After receiving a degree in Economics and International business, the cowboy moved to the big city where he met business partner, Richie Rich. The two hit it off and launched Heatherette in 1999.

With an entourage of celebrity friends like superstar photographer, David LaChapelle, performer Amanda Lepore, and stylist Patti Wilson, Heatherette was soon gaining oodles of press and famous fans. Celebrities include, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Mariah Carey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, David Beckham, John Galliano, Naomi Campbell, Missy Elliot, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce Knowles and many more. The design duo claim that Heatherette is made of "glitter sequins and dreams" and from their unbelievably fun look, we believe them. Click here to check out their newest styles.

CELEBRITY STYLE BLOG: PARIS WANTS US TO FORGET THIS!

Despite claiming that she did not want to promote her new straight-to-DVD bomb waiting to happen, National Lampoon's Pledge This!, Paris Hilton appeared at an event last night in Chicago promoting her new movie. Paris tells us how she does not want to be stereotyped as that "blonde airhead" and wants people to think of her as "doing more than just starring in a sex tape". Great way to change this image, P, by appearing in a Nation Lampoons movie as a drunken sorority girl! A wiser role choice would have been helpful, although when you're Paris Hilton I'm sure that deep, Oscar-worthy roles aren't being tossed at you. If P is so embarassed by this film in the first place though, why bother saying how you wish you had never filmed this movie and then go wave to photographers at the premiere? Paris apparently arrived an hour late, breezed down the red carpet, and then left before the movie even started! She should have been by Nicole's side in rehab, instead of Pledging for this sucky film!

Paris was spotted here two months ago at a release party for her album, which is being re-released just in time for Christmas, fyi, rockin' one of Johnson's unique jumpers. Goin' all crazy with the matchy matchy red bag/belt/shoes.. P does look hot here, I'll give it to her!
