CELEBRITY STYLE BLOG: Reese's Evolution

Reese Witherspoon spent March 8th shopping the day away in Beverly Hills looking chic in all black and gold (14-inch black J Brands, a black and gold belt, a sheer black dotted top with ties, black shades and a huge bag). One thing was definitely for sure, she was not texting ex-hubby Ryan Phillippe! OK! Magazine is reporting this week that although Ryan is begging for a second chance (is he?), Reese is over it and is moving on. She's definitely letting her star quality shine through by being Bazaar's cover girl this month. The cover is cute but I don't know, I just feel like something's off. Not sure what it is! Inside, Reese tells of how she "recently put a big pile of clothes on the floor of my closet, and I looked at a lot of the stuff and thought, 'That's not me at all. What was I thinking?' (For Legally Blonde) I went through a pink phase like you wouldn't believe. Then there was a Marni phase when I was doing Sweet Home Alabama that was out of control." I'm not sure how Reese feels, but I'm sure many women would die for Reese's closet.

STYLE TIP: Like A Prayer

Most often, a single nuance makes or breaks a complete ensemble. Last year's trends heralded a revolution of experimentation by crowning form, volume and silhouette as the sun of the fashion solar system, perhaps replacing texture, color, and material as the integral forces by which style is spun. Tearing a page from the Haute Couture Salons of Paris circa early 1900's (Balenciaga), playing with shape has become the moda addiction of fashionistas's everywhere.

Among the overcrowded menu of fashion's favorite volume tricks including Trapeze dresses, balloon skirts and gigantically tall platform shoes, was a diamond among gems; the Bishop Sleeve (and its many interpretations). This genius design element adds a certain air of elegance that is worth every penny of a well-made blouse or coat.

The bishop sleeve by definition is gathered at the top and wider at the cuff, hence its religious namesake. We love the instant style quotient and effortless wear-ability. Look for fun sleeve shapes like Puff or Dolemans to play with. They work with every woman's figure and look so rich. Try going the extra mile by layering the Bishop Sleeve under a short-sleeved shrug or capelet for extra contours.

So remember to embrace change, play with form and keep your eye open for the right sleeve!

DESIGNER OF THE WEEK: Pierce Jeans

Who, better than anyone else, combines saving the planet with amazing sex appeal? Brangelina aside, Pierce Jeans is making waves in the fashion industry by fusing their gorgeous denim line with a passion for helping less fortunate children around the world. Named after and inspired by the owner's son, Pierson, the line sets out to "create a brand to help children who are needy, hungry, and unfortunate."

The label donates a significant portion of the sale of each jean to benefit a charity chosen annually. Different colored labels on the back pocket represent a corresponding region that will benefit from the jeans. For example, Brown represents Cambodia, blue is for Mongolia and green symbolizes Africa.

Pierce denim doesn't just do good, it looks good too. Their body sculpting cuts emphasize a woman's curves, waist and bottom for an ultra-sexy fit. Celebrities like Eva Longoria and Jennifer Lopez love Pierce jeans for its perfect fit. The line continues to experiment with unique washes, styles and colors. Check out the latest for spring including an ultra-high waist we can't get enough of!
