Founded in 2002 by designer David Lim, Kasil Workshop is a unique denim brand that is all about design and details. As the son of Richard Lim, owner of High Society Custom Tailoring in Los Angeles, a tailoring business known for its celebrity clientele, David Lim grew up in the tailoring industry learning about the different types of fabrics and the skills necessary to customize clothing. More interested in the arts and painting than tailoring and fashion, Lim attended the Academy of Arts in San Francisco and soon became an assistant costume designer and illustrator for the movie industry. But Lim quickly grew bored and after some experimental painting on scraps of denim he found in his father’s store, he wanted to learn more about the canvas and he crafted his first pair of jeans. Lim says, “My original interest in denim wasn’t really the pants. I was more interested in using it as a canvas that I could paint on.” With the combination of Lim’s creativity and his background in tailoring, Kasil Workshop jeans are one-of-a-kind pieces with a truly amazing fit. With celebrity fans line Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Fergie, Lucy Liu, and Lindsey Lohan, Kasil Workshop is one of the top names in denim.
