Kara Smith and Nina Firestone, two Santa Barbara-based fashion connoisseurs, have quickly developed a savvy reputation for their women’s contemporary line, Karanina. Kara and Nina have been lifelong friends since their childhood years in Los Angeles, where they developed a passion for design and fashion. After growing frustration with the monotonous trends they encountered while traveling the world, Kara and Nina decided to create their own line. Since its launch in Spring 2004, Karanina has already established a strong celebrity following including Carmen Electra, Kirsten Dunst, Angelina Jolie, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Lopez.
