Jen's Pirate Booty

Created by Jen Rossi, buyer for the popular Southern California boutique Planet Blue, Jen’s Pirate Booty embraces the free-spirited, west-coast gypsy vibe of Jen’s home town of Malibu, California. Jen began her fashion career at Planet Blue, eventually making her way to buyer and store manager. She loved to travel the world in search of unique garments that was unlike anything designers were putting out and bring it back to Planet Blue where hey would sell out immediately. In April 2006, Jen was approached by a Japanese company looking to bring her expertise overseas and she agreed to launch Jen’s Closet as part of a vellective of 29 stores which sold her own designs as well as treasures collected on her travels around the world. Finding huge success in Japan, Jen began to have an idea of a new gypsy-inspired line, all she needed was a name. On a trip to Mexico, Jen found a bunch of clothes or loot and brought them back for her friends. Since pirate booty means the “pirate’s loot” of goodies that they find, Jen decided to call her line Jen’s Pirate Booty. Jen continues to travel the world, finding inspiration in other cultures so that she can create a line that is part gypsy, part bohemian, and part pirate. The washing instructions for these garments?: hand wash in the ocean. hang from a palm tree or lay to dry in the sand. peace, love, and happiness.” Every detail embodies the gypsy lifestyle that Jen loves so much.
