Signorelli

Inspired by a secret youth society of Italian nobility, "Signorelli" means, "Little Ladies" or "Little Lords". The society, founded in the 1600's still exists today among those who share their secret. Founded by teenagers, the exclusive circle seeks to elect only the most brilliant and dynamic young artists in the country to the ranks of Signorelli Ladies and Lords.

Staci Woo 12/15/06

Upon meeting Staci Woo, "frenzied designer" is not the first thing that pops into your mind. The impression instead is one of calm. Yes, calm. Rather than a fury of lipstick and heels, Staci is a woman that could explain algebra to a six-year old. Her motions are fluid, her expressions sincere, and her design space a quiet oasis of creativity.

This native Northern California gal moved south after studying art at the University of California, Santa Barbara. While in school, Staci worked at a local swimwear company and made her splash into the fashion industry. However, her real break came in 1995, as assistant designer to Adriano Goldschmied for A. Gold E.

"It was a humbling experience," she says of her days in the trenches. "I was young. Adriano taught me not just about design, but how to see things. He'd rush into the office holding up a pair of dirty blue jeans or an old tee shirt and exclaim, 'Do you see it! Isn't it fantastic!?'"

While toiling for Adriano, Staci began crafting on her own. She whipped up sling bags for personal use that soon became coveted possessions of friends and family. One became two, two three, and thus, in 1997 Woo was born. By 2002, Woo had collected a smart following based on simple yet innovative uses of recycled cashmere and vintage aloha prints. From what began as a bag and intimates collection has now expanded into a unique and fresh line designed for those seeking casual luxe. Each piece is an essential; created with the softest supima cottons and tencels mixed with lace trimming and inspiring prints.

Woo compliments every contour of a woman's body in a sophisticated and feminine approach. Her delicious materials are perfect for living and enjoying life to its fullest! Check out the latest from Woo like her graceful Ginger Dress in Plum Tree or the comfortable Short Sleeve Henley ivory to name a few.

Woo has graced the pages of fashion magazines like Cosmopolitan, Fitness, Fit Pregnancy, Glamour, In Style, Los Angeles, Lucky, Organic Style, Shape, and WWD and can be spotted on today most popular TV shows like Desperate Housewives and the OC.

Such a colorful burst of creative energy can only come from the unique design team of Richie Rich, Traver Rains and their entourage of celebrity muses.

The biographies of the amazing duo are as surprising as the line itself. Richie Rich hails from Northern California and began his career training with Kristi Yamaguchi, as one of the top professional figure skaters in the nation. After touring with Ice Capades, he moved to New York and soon became a professional "Club Kid". If that weren't a diverse enough resume, Richie then recorded a dance album with the two club hits, "Magic" and "Collision".

A true cowboy, Traver Rains grew up on a Montana ranch learning how to ride and rope at a young age. Traver won over 100 different titles at state and national horse shows for his riding skills. Like Richie he started designing his own performing costumes and simultaneously laying the fashion foundation for Heatherette. After receiving a degree in Economics and International business, the cowboy moved to the big city where he met business partner, Richie Rich. The two hit it off and launched Heatherette in 1999.

With an entourage of celebrity friends like superstar photographer, David LaChapelle, performer Amanda Lepore, and stylist Patti Wilson, Heatherette was soon gaining oodles of press and famous fans. Celebrities include, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Mariah Carey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, David Beckham, John Galliano, Naomi Campbell, Missy Elliot, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce Knowles and many more. The design duo claim that Heatherette is made of "glitter sequins and dreams" and from their unbelievably fun look, we believe them. Check out some of their newest styles here.

Raw-7 Cashmere 09/07/06

Who doesn't love Cashmere? From listening to Thurston Howle gloat about his "caaashmuir jaahmmies" to sneaking mother's favorite Dalton for a big date, cashmere envy has hit us all at some point. Traditionally conservative and versatile (your grandmother has J. Crew on speed dial throughout the holidays), welcome the best thing to ever hit the underbelly of a Mongolian goat. Raw-7 has redefined the luxuriously soft fabric as a modern, avant-garde expression of fashion. Founded in 2003, Raw-7's new approach to printing urban-inspired art on top-quality cashmere has branded a signature look within the fashion industry.

Their original graphics always lend a unique combination of rocker edge and feminine appeal to every piece. This season's collection is inspired by various emblems and coat d' arms like Pegasus figures, ornate keys and crowns. A rich color palette of ivory, scarlet and coco look warm and fashionable for fall and beyond. Special details like beading, sequins and embroidery further bring out the beauty of these amazing designs.

Signorelli 09/01/06

Inspired by a secret youth society of Italian nobility, "Signorelli" means, "Little Ladies" or "Little Lords". The society, founded in the 1600's still exists today among those who share their secret. Founded by teenagers, the exclusive circle seeks to elect only the most brilliant and dynamic young artists in the country to the ranks of Signorelli Ladies and Lords.

A Lady of Signorelli, Meredith Garrett came to the states and decided to share the allure and revolutionary insight of the Signorelli name with the U.S. She set out to design an edgy yet comfortable line of everyday wear that embodies the legacy of her esteemed circle. Using only the highest quality materials combined with a daring aesthetic and hand finished details, Signorelli clothing always makes a fresh statement.

Each month, Signorelli elects a new Lady or Lord to inspire the label and the talented artists become the muse of several signature pieces. This month's newest inductee is Los Angeles based-band, The Southland. Sales of their signature shirt will benefit the Lupus Foundation of America so look for its debut this spring.

The Secession 08/25/06

Headed by Los Angeles-based artist, Bryden Lando, The Secession is more than just a clothing line, but one chapter of a larger art movement. The project seeks to withdraw from the status quo and redefine the perimeters of artistic expression and freedom through a multi-faceted movement. The group has dipped into an array of media including fashion, film, and music to keep their work as dynamic and interactive as possible.

Secession tees and tanks combine an original artist's design with a dash of smart humor on an ultra-soft cotton canvas. Our favorites include the top-selling, "I Uzi L.A." tee; a polarizing favorite of Angelinos and East Coasters alike and their "Save the Humans" tee featuring concerned whales. Made by the artists for a forward thinking generation, Secession fashion is truly a unique piece of art.

Siwy 08/08/06

Michelle Siwy had so many flattering and innovative ideas for designing the perfect pair of jeans that she was compelled to start her eponymous line, Siwy Denim, so her unique ideas would be all her own. To the delight of women around the world, she began designing an ultra-flattering line of sexy American denim in the spring of 2005. Since then, her jeans have skyrocketed in popularity with help from a cast of Hollywood's elite that love wearing her denim. Stars like Rachel Bilson, Jessica Alba, Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton have all put their look in the hands of Siwy Denim.

Siwy Denim makes everyone look tinier in all the right places and even adds lift to flat bums. How does Michelle manage to manipulate the eye? Using several visual tricks like widening the knee out and slimming the knee on the inside to balance the hips. Her washes contour the body to make it appear thinner, even more toned! Not unlike a self-tan airbrush, her vintage washes and fades sculpt the body visually. The back hem curves upwards so it won't drag on the ground or under a high heel and the front waist dips slightly to flatter the tummy. Michelle's design details are a calculated symphony of washes, cuts, and fading that ultimately creates a beautiful optical illusion that makes Siwy denim truly one-of-a-kind.

I could go on and on but you have things to do I'm sure. Ok, one more, the Leather Studded Belt in Ivory has plenty of Bling to go around with a flashy wide buckle and detailed throughout with gold studs. Janis Dragon Jeans

Taverniti So

First and fore-most, what's not to love about their bling'n Dragon jeans? They have two important things that make a stylist smile: Gold colored embroidery on the back pockets, and what every jean needs-impeccable fit. The longer shaped pockets create the illusion of a larger, more proportional looking butt for those with flatter bums, and for those with larger bums, the pockets draw the eye down to straighten and lengthen your butt and legs. We'd like to give Taverniti props for constructing their jeans to fit so many different body types without skimping on style.
