Harkham's Biography

Harkham is designed with a feminine, vintage edge. Fragile laces, whisper weight silks, humble cotton voiles and oddly beautiful prints add a serene sense of nowness to the collection. Seams are raw, laces are left to dangle loosely, tarnished beads are clustered in a haphazard way. Harkham was introduced in Fall 2004 and is shipped with twelve deliveries per year.

Darena Yee , the harkham designer, is a contemporary designer who gets her inspiration from fleeting images – a falling leaf, a tattered scrap of silk, a vintage broken button.

Because her design background includes working in New York and in Los Angeles, she has an edgier, urban take on feminine styling. She has designed for Calvin Klein CK, Mica, Left Of Center, Poleci, Hype and Bluebird.
