About Habitual

Habitual was founded in 2001 by husband and wife team, Michael and Nicole Colovos. Their love of design, art and denim led them to the creation of Habitual. Focusing on fit and intricate design details, such as their signature Maltese cross, The Colovos’ are always seeking to capture the inherent character and qualities that denim offers.

Habitual by definition is the unconscious behavior acquired through frequent repetition.

Habitual was created due to our obsession with denim and its ability to become a second skin. No two pairs of jeans are the same once they are worn.

Jeans are worn out of habit. You wear them day in and day out, day and night. Eventually they become a part of you, representing a visual biography of your life, each pair becoming a denim snowflake, unique as your own DNA and picking up individual personality traits. Joining us on our journey, jeans elusively hold on to our memories with each stain, tatter and experience that happens along the way.

Habitual brings together refinement and luxury with the utilitarian legacy in which denim originated. Offering great style and a perfect fit, combined with sophistication and subtlety, Habitual strives to naturally and seamlessly build on one’s individuality and personal style.

Habitual Jeans

Artisan in its origin and in today’s production, every single piece of Habitual denim is hand finished, giving the brand its signature look. Each pair of Habitual Jeans takes twice as long to make than a regular five-pocket jean. Every wash takes months to develop and fine-tune. Habitual back pockets (that have a unique angle and placement) are hand-placed on every jean, ensuring the most flattering look and fit for your derriere.

Each season Habitual features a Mantra that is sewn in to waistbands, jackets and pocket linings. These mantra’s we hope to follow and inspire you on your journeys.
