Viki Merjos, Designer and owner of Goddis knitwear, began where most successful people do, at the bottom. Working in retail at a very young age Merjos worked very hard, going above and beyond her job description and helping style the shop. Working her way up slowly, Merjos was promoted to assistant buyer and eventually buyer where she learned everything she could about the fashion industry, from designing, to advertising, to sales. Collecting her knowledge from each area of the business, Merjos decided to start her own line. Goddis began as a line of ponchos which Merjos would drive to different stores up and down California so she could slowly build a customer list. Finally after gaining some clientele, the owner of the tradeshow Designers and Agents gave Goddis the opportunity to be showcased, giving Merjos the exposure she needed to get her collection off the ground. Since its launch, Goddis has expanded to include luxe knits in a variety of sweaters, scarves, pants, and maxi skirts that are now available in stores and boutiques throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The line has become a favorite among celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Halle Berry, Mariah Carey, and Vanessa Hudgens and continues to be a staple of fashion forward girls everywhere.
