In 2001, Los Angeles local Pamella Protzel co-founded Ella Moss, one of the fastest growing collections in the contemporary fashion arena. Inspired by the Parisian flea markets she visited as a teenager and the art, fashion, and people surrounding her, Protzel entered The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles without even knowing how to make a pattern. Relying on her sharp eye for detail and her instincts, the talented Protzel now designs pieces coveted by celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, and Liv Tyler, proving her intuition a success.

Named for a combination of her own nickname (Ella) and her co-creator Moise Emquies’ nickname (Moss), Protzel personifies Ella Moss, describing her as a “modern bohemian woman. She travels the world and falls in love easily. She listens to feel-good music and drives with the windows down. She shops at flea markets and thinks a beach vacation is the best kind of vacation.
