The Green movement calls for the preservation of nature; chemical and toxic free agricultural activities, food processing and manufacturing procedure. Today's consumers are increasingly aware of the damaging effects of pollutants, insecticides, pesticides and chemicals, and are taking an active role to select and purchase eco-friendly, biodegradable and organic products ranging from household, food, health products to clothing and accessories.
Ecoganik recognizes this consumer need to balance quality and eco-conscious living. The company designs and manufactures stylish fashion wear using only certified organic or eco-friendly fabrics. The manufacturing detail and processing all conform to the international organic certification standard.
While our customers enjoy the comfort, relaxing personal styling, and the superior quality of our organic fashion line, Ecoganik is committed to promote the alternative cropping of organic, pesticide free and low impact dye fiber that in turn saves the planet from further contamination and degradation.
In contrast to the conventionally grown cotton and non-biodegradable synthetics, the organic fibers we use for Ecoganik are free of harmful pesticides and chemicals. The eco-friendly natural and recycled fabrics used for our line include organic cotton, tencel, hemp, organic indigo denim, silk, organic wool, and eco-fleece. These naturally grown and organic fibers offer the premium characteristics of easy care, durability, softness, permeability, static electricity resistance, and protection against chemical sensitivity.
Our colored organic fabric is finished with low impact dyes which are free of metal and mordant substances. Such dyeing process protects the earth from wastage of water and electricity, and eliminates toxic discharge runoff into the waste stream during the dyeing process.
Conventional method of growing cotton is known to be heavily dependent on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. It takes approximately one pound of chemicals to grow three pounds of cotton. Organically grown cotton relies on biologically based agricultural methods. To be certified as organic, the soil for the agriculture of organic cotton has to be free of chemicals for at least three years. Moreover, the farmers and processors are subject to annual inspections.
Fabrics made from organically grown cotton are superior in absorbance, softness, static electricity resistance, and durability.
Hundreds of years ago, the Native Americans were able to appreciate the natural colors genetically encoded in cotton fiber. The natural colors of cotton fiber range from brown, reddish brown, green, yellow to tan. Unlike chemically dyed fabric, the warm rich earth tones of the fabrics made from naturally colored cotton actually deepen with washing. Today's plant breeding produces long-fiber colored cotton for manufacturing of naturally colored cotton fabric which eliminates the dyeing process. Such fabric is particularly suitable for chemically sensitive consumers.
Eco fiber is recycled cotton fabric made from recovered cotton that is cast off during the spinning, weaving or cutting process. The processing of eco fiber is free of harsh chemicals.
Tencel is a soft and silky fabric made of the cellulose extracted from trees using a non-toxic and chemical free process. The fabric resembles rayon or high end silk in its elegance and smoothness, but is more durable and easy to care. Tencel fabric is 100% biodegradable, and machine washable.
Hemp crop is naturally resistant to insects and pests and therefore can be grown free of chemical pesticides. Its ability to regenerate the soil makes it one of the most environmentally beneficial crops. Hemp fabric is durable, warmer than cotton because of its property of high insulation, nonirritating to the skin and breaths well.
