Earnest Sewn takes the classic five pocket jean aesthetic and incorporates design details that flatter and compliment the wearer’s silhouette. The pocket placement adds shape to the seat and the seam construction elongates and slims the leg. All styles in the women’s collection have a two-pieces contour waistband that provides a significantly better fit by thinning out the waistline and eliminating gapping.

What We Thought:
The cut of these jeans are superbly contoured. The low rise hits at the hip, but provides full and comfortable coverage in the rear. The legs are straight through the thigh, opening into a mild boot cut. Stretch denim is soft like Paper Denim, but comes off a little sturdier without sacrificing comfort and flex. Sizing is generous and the legs a little roomy. Size down for a true slim fit. Inseam is over-long (34”); start looking for a good tailor who can save the original hems when fitting you.

The MILK wash is casual which is great for mix-matching funky tops and jackets with dressier shoes or pairing your old kicks with a hoodie. Try layering a couple C&C tees in outré color combos or latch into the Bohemian revival with a Grey Ant Fold over.

The DECCA jean has a higher rise in front and back. It is a very snug, very stretch denim with a very skinny, straight leg. While the fit is true, the slim cut of the Decca means it fits slender legs great, but is a harder fit for girls with quads and hips. This is a great jean to wear tucked into your Fryes or Uggs.

The HEFNER MAZ DARK has lots of room in the waist and thigh. Even if you size down, you will not have a close, conforming fit. The roomier thigh and butt give you a more relaxed fit, but is by no means slouchy. The inseam is shorter. If you have worn Chip & Pepper, this jean has a similar thigh.

The FADER MINI is an A-line, high-waisted skirt with a loose fit. May tend to rise up during wear. Tweaked details like side darts and an asymmetrical waistband add individuality. The overall fit is similar to a Paper Denim mini.
