Designed and launched by Scott Morrison in 2004, Earnest Sewn jeans combine the Japanese beauty aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi (or the idea of beauty in imperfection), with the vintage American denim that we all know and love. Using authentic washer rivets as they were originally intended (and usually only found on vintage pairs of jeans), Earnest Sewn is all about detail and authenticity. With hand techniques in the wash process, traditional pressing machines from the 1950’s, and hand stamps of approval by both the president and designer, their design principle, “product sewn in earnest,” proves true. Intentional variations of stitch detailing, thread and back pocket stitching, and sewing construction make each pair different than any other.
