Custo Barcelona already has three stores in Paris

Custo Barcelona already has three stores in Paris. In April, it opened premises covering 60 square metres on the corner of Rue de Grenelle and Rue des Saints-Pères, and in September, opened two further stores, on Rue des Rosiers and Boulevard Saint Germain. The fourth store on Rue Saint-Honoré is still under construction.

The firm already has stores in other parts of France, including Nice and Saint-Tropez, and is now seeking suitable premises in Lyons and Toulouse. It also continues to distribute its collection from 280 multi-brand stores in the country, among them Galeries Lafayette and Bon Marché.

In other parts of the globe, Custo Barcelona’s expansion has proved unstoppable. In America, it is already established in Chicago, New York and Las Vegas, and will soon be opening in Miami, Los Angeles (two stores), Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, New York (its second shop), Boca Raton (north of Miami) and Atlantic City. Some of these outlets will be larger than its European stores, and will cover an area of more than 200 square metres. Custo Barcelona is also available in Italy (Rome, Perugia and Milan), Mexico (Santa Fe), China, Japan (Tokyo), Bahrein, Dubai, Puerto Rico (San Juan), the Dominican Republic, Panama and Costa Rica (San José), and plans to open further shops in Bogotá, Sao Paulo and Lima.

In Spain, Custo Barcelona has 15 own stores and, for the very first time, has recently opened one in a shopping centre. This flagship store covers an area of 130 square metres on the ground floor of the luxurious L’Illa centre on Barcelona’s Diagonal avenue.

Brothers Custo and David Dalmau created Custo Barcelona in the early eighties, taking their inspiration from psychedelics and the Californian surfing style. The original patterns on their T-shirts quickly made them successful in America. Since then, Custo Barcelona has consolidated its image in the country, where it has been presenting its collections each season at the New York and Sao Paolo Fashion Weeks, and on the Los Angeles Runway. The international market accounts for 85% of Custo Barcelona’s turnover. In terms of sales volume, its main markets are the USA (17%), Italy (14%), Spain (14%) and France (12%).
