Yoana Baraschiís Fall 2007 collection is full of inspirations that take the mind from fashion savvy bond girl to feminine and dainty heiress. Baraschiís designs are both svelte and chic. Baraschi once again master pieces that accentuate the beauty of a womanís body. While playing with the fantasy Secret Agent Team, she uses patent trim (like in the Dita Tweed Jacket and Skirt), luxe fabrics (as in the Bond Girl Dress), and black patent accented with gold chains and buttons (in the Baby Trench and Bond Girl Trench Coat). Gold chains, patent belts and sashes or overtly female satin bows emphasize the waist in vamp like silhouettes (think Dita Von Tesse) while very Mia Mod dresses and suits round off the 60ís inspiration. Baraschi includes her signature beautifully crafted tops and dresses for Fall 2007. Detailed lace such as scalloped trimmings and black embroidery finish dresses with an ultra feminine touch. Floral mosaics and patterns act as accent pieces. Warhol-esqe floral images are printed on knit, silk cotton sateen and silk wool jersey. Rose and iris images are oversized on tunics and dresses. Fabrics in pale muted tones such as oyster, pearl and rose soften the mood while a dark color palette of blood red, gray and black is contrasted with splashes of red carpet and electric blue creates a powerful color impact throughout the collection. With this rich, multifaceted collection, Baraschi manages to intensify the focus on her muse and customer: a woman who is strong, chic and sensual, with a charming ability to laugh at herself.
