Mary-Kate Olsen was caught leaving her lower Manhattan apartment on December 21, tightly grasping a hot coffee to stay warm amidst the freezing NYC temps. I feel like it's been forever since we've seen paparazzi pictures of MK's street style, don't you? Lately, the twins have only been photographed at premieres and benefits and galas... I've missed seeing the Olsen's take to the street with their style! MK began her look with a black leather motorcycle jacket (try Mike & Chris' Wesley Motorcycle Jacket in Black) over a black t-shirt and what seems to almost be a white silk kimono? I wouldn't put it past MK. She continued with a skinny black denim (similar to Siwy's Hannah Jean in Jet Obsidian), a burgundy plaid scarf (I love the print of A Graves' Floral Print Scarf in Marino Wool), a pair of vintage biker boots and a black leather shoulder bag with gold hardware (get the look with Linea Pelle Collection's Dylan Folding Tote in Black). Accessory wise, Mary-Kate chose her favorite circular shades, along with a bevy of rings (wearing a ton of rings is oh-so-Olsen - take your pick between Ija Designs' Cuttlefish Ring in Silver and Lois Hill's Rectangular Ring in Silver). Since it has been so long, are you feelin' MK's almost-2010 style? Is this a look you would attempt? It seems that Liz Jones doesn't think so. The critic deemed MK the fourth worst-dressed celeb of the year, claiming that the tiny twin "limps in fourth [on the list] in a kaftan and a headband," behind Madonna, Sharon Stone, and Cate Blanchett. That's the beauty of MK - she doesn't care what anyone thinks of her style and continues to do her own thing, despite being called a mess, a bag lady, homeless, and any other tragic fashion term you can throw her way. What do you think, did she deserve to be the fourth worst dressed star of 2009?

She might be slightly redeeming herself here, but otherwise yes, totally deservedguest on Dec 27 2009 @ 06:41 PM
yes! This outfit would be great if the sunglasses were any other shapeguest on Dec 27 2009 @ 08:22 PM
I actually like the Lennon glasses, it's the weird white drapy thing flying out of her jacket that bothers me... she just can't let the bag lady layers go for one outfit!guest on Dec 27 2009 @ 10:36 PM
so cool! she makes style look effortlessguest on Dec 28 2009 @ 04:41 AM

^^ agree. And also, the glasses have been her signature thing for a while, staying away from the "trendy" ones that everybody has. I think that is real personal style.guest on Dec 28 2009 @ 05:57 AM
Cute! love every inch of it.

I don't think she deserves it. Sure, her style is often pretty out there, but her unique sensibility also means she has some great moments. And it depends on how you define celebrity - there must be hundreds & hundreds of B & C listers out there with worse style..guest on Dec 28 2009 @ 05:42 PM
as much as I adore her and her style, I think I understand why she "deserves" it. She doesn't buy every single chanel, LV or Balenciaga there is (like V.Bekham) or tries too hard to be perceived as "trendy" or "edgy" or "fierce", like Rihanna. She just wears whatever she wants to.guest on Dec 29 2009 @ 07:02 AM
the glasses don't work. I read she has this ivory silk antique kimono she just adores. It was exciting seeing her in it! maybe! Both girls are beyond celebrity, and are making maybe millions, so they are above only trying to make perfect outfit. yes, it is disappointing. But i admire their other achievements and purty hair. I used to have hoardes of thrift shop stuff, myself. nice stuff, kind of old, odd. Lady GAGA gets more outrageous with the odd combos, and I really love HER eccentric style most, if I want to be entertained by fashion.guest on Dec 30 2009 @ 09:35 PM
