WIGGING OUT FOR MTV

Always one to make an entrance, Katy Perry stepped onto the red carpet of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards at Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheatre on June 6 channeling her inner Smurfette - she sure has been fond of colorful wigs lately! Aside from her bright blue Bettie Page 'do, Katy donned a Fall 2010 Zuhair Murad nude dress with crystal embellishments and along with a pair of Rock & Republic Lotus Platform Pumps (check out the blue leather version of these pumps here). A winged eye, neon yellow nails and a silver ring on her right hand (check out Femme Metale Jewelry's Rectangle Ring in Silver) completed Katy's wild look. To make this ensemble more wearable for everyday life, try pairing a nude dress (I like Isabel Lu's Chain Link Spaghetti Dress in Nude) with a subtle element of glitz, like a great bag. Moyna Handbags' Swarovski Crystal Covered Silk Handbag in Grey/Silver is ideal. What did you think of Katy's eccentric red carpet appearance, everyone? Fab as only Katy can do, or ridiculously over the top? Outfit aside, Katy took to the stage at the Movie Awards - along with Snoop Dogg, of course - to perform her summer smash single "California Gurls," complete with backup dancers wearing "daisy dukes and bikinis on top."
