Despite her youth, Hayden Panettiere looking surprisingly elegant at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 11. Selecting a lavish Gianfranco Ferre strapless gown, HP looked gorgeous in the rich eggplant shade with her favorite YSL heels peeking out underneath (if you love the purple hue, try Ingwa Melero’s Elena Charmeuse Maxi Dress in Aubergine or Walter’s Duchess Satin One Sleeve Dress in Purple). I must say I absolutely love this dress on her, from the knotted sash under the bust to the intricately beaded bodice and flashy faceted gems along the neckline. The tight strapless style would only work on a smaller bust like Hayden’s, and the hint of shimmer along her décolleté makes the dress pop. Loving the tapered back as well, and it’s fitting that Hayden’s “Vivere” tattoo is peeking out – she is definitely living the sweet life in this ‘fit! Complementing her gown with decadent jewels by Fred Leighton, Hayden’s gorgeous rose diamond briolette earrings sparkled along with her 4.0 carat platinum diamond ring (add sparkle to your ‘fit without breaking the bank with options like Castaway’s demure Amethyst Drop Earrings in Amethyst or Kuo Ting’s colorful Chrysophase Amethyst Earrings in Gold). Before I continue, how many of you were wearing 4 carat diamonds before you could drink legally? It’s just not fair! Hayden completed her look with simple manicured nails and a resin barrel Ferragamo clutch in a complementary shade, choosing an elegant curled ‘do draping over one shoulder and almost natural makeup. I love that she played up the dramatic eyes and left her lips and cheeks almost bare, and kudos to her makeup artist, Amy Oresman, for her nearly flawless foundation. HP generally looks a little too bronzed and cakey, and there is nothing bad I can say about her look here. Surprisingly, most of the cosmetics used were from the Neutrogena line that Hayden is a spokeswoman for – are any of you fans? I feel compelled to try the Natural Radiance Bronzer now that I see what a subtle glow it gives HP! While Hayden did not take home any awards for the evening, she was privileged to present the award for “Best TV Drama Actor” with High School Musical hottie Zac Efron. It’s not the same as taking a Globe home yourself, but taking the stage with one of young Hollywood’s sexiest stars is a nice trade-off, right?
