Looking absolutely ecstatic, Eva Longoria Parker arrives at a special charity event for Padres Contra El Cancer in Burbank on March 20. When cancer is involved, mega watt smiles don't always follow, but Eva had a big reason to celebrate: AT&T wrote a $1 million check to the kids charity. Eva arrived looking stunning in a striped Karen Millen dress with a cumberband-like detail around the waist (stripe lovers, see Interlud's Striped Babydoll in Navy or check out the similar layered style of PGD Style's Striped Tee with Sweater Tank in Grey). This isn't the first time Eva has stepped into the public light for her favorite kids charity – she's been a national spokeswoman for over a year and accepted another whopping check for $200,000 from AT&T just a few months ago, one of four totaling the $1 mil she accepted at this event. After getting involved with the charity Eva explained her drive to the press, "I've experienced cancer with older relatives and I've seen their pain and suffering… I can only imagine how hard it must be for a child. Latino families, because of social, economic and cultural barriers don't always have access to all the resources available. That's what attracted me to PADRES - together we can break those barriers, so no child or family suffers alone." I don't know about you, but I love seeing celebs draw attention to worthy causes and well deserving non-profits behind them. Are any of you supporting similar causes?
