Looking radiant as ever on the red carpet, Angelina Jolie made a stunning appearance at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 11. Wearing a sweeping gown with a tantalizing thigh high slit by Atelier Versace, Angie sparkled among the sea of celebs with her elegant simplicity (if you love the shimmery gown, try CoutureCandy’s picks like Gold Hawk’s Sequin Dress in Dessert Brown or LaROK’s Delirious Mini Dress in Wood). I love that she took a chance with the slit, but I’m not sure about the similar shape of the blouson waistline to the Max Azria dress she wore to the Critic’s Choice Awards a few nights prior. Wearing two dresses with very similar concealing waistlines almost makes it seem like she’s hiding something – a baby bump, perhaps? Angie completed her look with satin Jimmy Choo peep toes and an elegant set of platinum diamond earrings with a matching ring by Neil Lane (dress up your ‘fit with some less pricey yet equally elegant baubles like Rachel Leigh’s Gumball Ring in Caramel or Michele Michel’s Babe Citrine Earrings in Silver), sticking to her trademark nude makeup and wearing her espresso tresses in long, loose waves. Overall I think the look is very glamorous, and I must credit her stylist Jennifer Rade – you can definitely see the difference in Angie’s appearance when she has a little extra help! Though neither half of Brangelina took home awards this year, Angie gushed to the press about her long-term lover’s work in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: “Most of all I was charmed by him when he was younger. I was charmed by it. When I first saw the film, there were a lot of blue masks that they had to put on his face, so the first half I didn’t see his acting inside the little guy. Then, when I saw him when he was young ... he is just so charming. I was really moved.
