THE VMA DRAMA RECAP

There's no doubt that the darling of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was Taylor Swift, and unless you've been living under a rock, you know all about the dramarama explosion between Taylor, Kanye West and Beyonce. But I'll get to that in a minute, let's first focus on Tay's awards show look. I for one was blown away by how beautiful, sophisticated and graceful Taylor looked on the red carpet, as she chose a Kaufman Franco Resort 2009 draped nude sequin one-shoulder gown (take a peek at Sue Wong's Flowered Gown in Tan for a similar choice) with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry (to get Taylor's look, start with either Jessica Elliot's Open Clover Cuff in Sterling Silver or Alex and Ani's Set of 7 Signature Expandable Wire Bangles in Silver and pair with Michele Michel Jewelry's Rose Swarovski Earrings in Silver) and a cherry red lip to match the carpet. I don't think I even have to ask, but what did you think of Taylor's look? Did she knock it out of the park or what? Now for a quick rundown of the drama surrounding Taylor at the awards: during her acceptance speech for her first ever VMA, Kanye West hopped on the stage, interrupted Taylor and rudely declared that Beyonce's nominated video was one of the best in history, saying, "Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" Taylor just stood there, obviously embarrassed, upset, and stunned. The crowd (and pretty much everyone else on Earth) was disgusted with Kanye, and was shocked that he would do that to someone as innocent and talented as Taylor. Proving what a class act she was, Beyonce let Taylor take the stage and give her acceptance speech when B won for Video of the Year. Kanye has since taken to his blog to apologize to T, saying, "I feel like Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents” when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave… That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry." The public reaction to Kanye has been overwhelmingly negative, and it doesn't seem like his apologies are doing any good. A multitude of celebs have come to Taylor's defense, such as Pink, who Twittered "Kanye West is the biggest piece of s**t on earth. Quote me on that," Katy Perry, who Twittered, "F**k u Kanye, It’s like you stepped on a kitten," and Kelly Clarkson, who took to her blog and said, "Kanye I’m not even mad at you for being an a**hole... I just pity you because you’re a sad human being. Taylor Swift, you outsell him. That’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!" So what does Taylor have to say about the controversial incident? She simply said, "Well, I was standing on stage because I was really excited because I had just won the award. And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that." Poor thing!! Kanye is now apologizing again on "The Jay Leno Show" (airing tonight) and said, "It was rude, period. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve." Saying that it was rude was quite an understatement! So I don't think I even need to ask, but which team are you on? TEAM TAYLOR!!
