I wonder what the "JH" on the front of Tay's dress stands for? One thing is definitely for sure, it appears that everyone had a riotous good time! I just hope that Tay wasn't expecting to wear this dress again. For her simple and chic birthday 'fit, she chose a strapless white dress (similar to Shumaq's Emily Strapless Dress in Beige, or, for a romper version, check out Black Halo's Rihanna Jumper in Shine White) along with a pair of silver cutout heels and her trademark wavy locks. As I'm sure you've heard Taylor Swift and Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner (cutely dubbed T Sqaured) have been seeing quite a lot of each other lately, as the two were recently spotted taking in a hockey game in Los Angeles. The Valentine's Day co-stars attended the game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center before heading to a hotel in Beverly Hills, where a source says: "Taylor Swift was all dolled up and looked super pretty. She didn't seem to mind the attention. Taylor Lautner, on the other hand, was hiding under a hoodie." Talk about a teen supercouple!

A trip to NYC wouldn't be complete without at least one fashion outing, and Taylor Swift got her fix attended the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2010 show at Bryant Park on September 17. Stepping out of her hotel in a ravishing red frock in one of the signature colors of the iconic American designer, I think TS pulls of the perfect mix of sweet sophistication in her polished sheath dress with adorable Stuart Weitzman bow heels (if crimson is your color, try Black Halo's Bustier Detail Pleated Mini Dress in Cranberry or one of my fav new arrivals, VOOM by Joy Han's Eyelet Bubble Dress in Red). Taylor refined her look with a black clutch (like Danielle Nicole's sassy Kristi Clutch in Black) and a few silver bracelets (try Circadian Studios' Silver and Oxidized Bangles Set in Silver/Oxidized), wearing her trademark blonde curls in a loose updo with just a few tendrils around her face. What do you think of Taylor's look? Regardless of what you think of her music, her attire is so much classier than artists her age it's hard to remember she's only 19! At the TH show, Taylor was lucky to sit next to "Gossip Girl" hottie Penn Badgley. I predict there will be a song about this coincidence on her next album! In other TS gossip news, the young star was recently asked about her friendship with Katy Perry in an interview with JustJared and spilled her guts about KP's drunk dialing ways. All TS would say about her 4am phone call from Katy was: “I wasn’t going to say anything about that ever! I don’t want to tell secrets!... It was a very colorful and creative, unique voicemail.” Colorful, hmmm? Continuing to go about her business in NYC, Taylor Swift has been spotted all over town this week doing everything from appearing on "The View" to attending Bryant Park fashion shows. You can definitely say her "Best Female Video" win has upped her style creds – she's been knocking it outta the park this week! Following the night of the VMA's, Taylor was spotted taking her family out to dinner at Serendipity on Sept 14, wearing a black leather coat (like Gold Hawk's Belted Leather Jacket in Moonless Night) over an LBD (opt for classics like Rachel Pally's Fortuna Dress in Black or Lotta Stensson's Shirred Dress in Black) with killer royal blue and black heels. The next morning TS was spotted leaving her hotel carrying the same marbled mahogany tote – love the rich brown shade! Going for a more youthful look, Taylor wore a bright printed mini (try Sky's Jorge Halter Top in Black) with a bright coral cardigan, wearing a sassy pair of pewter double strap Mary Janes while heading off with coffee in hand. On Tuesday morning, Taylor left her hotel in a black spaghetti strap dress with high heel cut-out booties, looking a little shy on her way to tape "The View." Once she arrived she changed into a teal blue strapless dress with a gold swirl print and oversized bow on the bust (check out Tricia Fix's Renta Mini in Aqua Peacock Feather), matching the lustrous gold print with her peeptoe heels. In all of her looks T's jewelry was minimal to nonexistent – do you think that was tasteful or should she incorporate some interesting pieces with her future 'fits? Of all the looks above, the shoes from the first night and the dress from the second day are my favorites. What about you? In the fallout from the Kanye VMA drama, the outspoken rapper took to Leno to announce he will take some time off to reflect on his actions – rightfully so, because we all need some time off from his ridiculously selfish antics. Looks like "the voice of our generation" will be silenced for a little while. If anything positive came of his outburst, it's Taylor and Beyonce's newly solidified friendship: "I thought it was so wonderful and gracious of her to do what she’s always done. She’s always been a great person before anything else. Before the talented artist, the superstar, she’s always been a great person and I just, I thought I couldn’t love Beyonce more tonight, than tonight.” Awww, what a sweetheart!

There's no doubt that the darling of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was Taylor Swift, and unless you've been living under a rock, you know all about the dramarama explosion between Taylor, Kanye West and Beyonce. But I'll get to that in a minute, let's first focus on Tay's awards show look. I for one was blown away by how beautiful, sophisticated and graceful Taylor looked on the red carpet, as she chose a Kaufman Franco Resort 2009 draped nude sequin one-shoulder gown (take a peek at Sue Wong's Flowered Gown in Tan for a similar choice) with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry (to get Taylor's look, start with either Jessica Elliot's Open Clover Cuff in Sterling Silver or Alex and Ani's Set of 7 Signature Expandable Wire Bangles in Silver and pair with Michele Michel Jewelry's Rose Swarovski Earrings in Silver) and a cherry red lip to match the carpet. I don't think I even have to ask, but what did you think of Taylor's look? Did she knock it out of the park or what? Now for a quick rundown of the drama surrounding Taylor at the awards: during her acceptance speech for her first ever VMA, Kanye West hopped on the stage, interrupted Taylor and rudely declared that Beyonce's nominated video was one of the best in history, saying, "Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" Taylor just stood there, obviously embarrassed, upset, and stunned. The crowd (and pretty much everyone else on Earth) was disgusted with Kanye, and was shocked that he would do that to someone as innocent and talented as Taylor. Proving what a class act she was, Beyonce let Taylor take the stage and give her acceptance speech when B won for Video of the Year. Kanye has since taken to his blog to apologize to T, saying, "I feel like Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents” when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave… That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry." The public reaction to Kanye has been overwhelmingly negative, and it doesn't seem like his apologies are doing any good. A multitude of celebs have come to Taylor's defense, such as Pink, who Twittered "Kanye West is the biggest piece of s**t on earth. Quote me on that," Katy Perry, who Twittered, "F**k u Kanye, It’s like you stepped on a kitten," and Kelly Clarkson, who took to her blog and said, "Kanye I’m not even mad at you for being an a**hole... I just pity you because you’re a sad human being. Taylor Swift, you outsell him. That’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!" So what does Taylor have to say about the controversial incident? She simply said, "Well, I was standing on stage because I was really excited because I had just won the award. And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that." Poor thing!! Kanye is now apologizing again on "The Jay Leno Show" (airing tonight) and said, "It was rude, period. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve." Saying that it was rude was quite an understatement! Making time for a girls' night out amidst their busy touring schedules, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry were spotted having dindin at Hakkasan in London on August 23 after they both spent two days performing at the V Festival. I like the sort of good girl/bad girl pairing they have going on, but I never would've guessed these two would be friendly enough to dine together! Am I alone here? Taylor even sent a Twitpic from their meal (the oval) with the caption: "@katyperry really puts the ‘fun’ in Fundon." KP promptly responded, "LYLAS! C u @ the VMA’s bbgirl! (TS is an angel!)" Very cute to see they both found friends abroad, especially after they both Tweeted about missing certain things about home while spending time in the UK. On the bright side, at least it didn't rain while they were partying in LDN! After their dinner, Katy emerged from the restaurant first quite literally wearing her heart on her sleeve – or I guess strap? I love the simplicity of the striped dress with the ultra-feminine hearts, and that she kept it simple with black flats, a black purse and a baby girl wrap (to do stripes right, start with Twisted Heart's Caitlin Terry Dress in Paradise or Splendid's Stripe Knit Cami Dress in Lavender with 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent's Tie Waist Wrap in Lilac). Following closely behind, Taylor picked a stunning blue and green cutout strapless Rebecca Taylor dress (check out CoutureCandy's selection of Rebecca Taylor's styles from the same collection like the Summer Cocktail Dress in Midnight or the Tequila Bingo Dress in Kiwi) brightened with aqua peep-toe Loubs and a dainty green headband. I'm not the biggest country fan, but there is something genuinely sweet about Taylor Swift that appeals to me – somehow wrapped up in the fact that she writes her own music, hasn't turned into a sex and drug crazed teen (yet!) and loves playing pranks including dressing up like KISS on stage and joining T-Pain for her "T-Swizzle" rap debut. The show is supposed to be the younger, cooler version of the other country music awards shows that have aired recently – and it shows. With guests including rapper T-Pain (and a hilarious video with Taylor, which I'll get to later), the show went on to include two live performances from Ms. Swift herself – one including joining Def Leopard for their classic "Pour Some Sugar On Me," one of T's favorite bands. Talk about a 19 year old's dream! Arriving at the event in a sparkly tiered mini dress (try Sue Wong's Beaded Bodice Empire Dress in Beige or brighten up in Walter's similar design Pleated Ruffle Poly Dress in Turquoise) and strappy metallic heels, Taylor chose a simple diamond bracelet and glamorous chandelier earrings (like Robyn Rhodes' Kaylee Earrings in Gold), framed with her trademark golden curls pinned in an old fashioned up 'do to one side. Tres chic! What do you think of Ms. Swift's attire for the night? The CMT Awards are voted by the fans, and the fans spoke decisively: Taylor took home two awards for her music video "Love Story" for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year, and her director Trey Fanjoy took home the award for Video Director of the Year, also for "Love Story." Then she got on stage with a special surprise: her pre-recorded rapping debut with T-Pain, taking on a new persona as T-Swizzle. If you haven't seen it, watch now – it's pretty hilarious. Taking the stage at the Today Show in New York City on May 29, Taylor Swift rocked Rockefeller Plaza, where fans waited in rain gear to see her belt out hits including “Love Story” and “Should’ve Said No.” Taylor arrived in a belted khaki trenchcoat, quickly shedding it once things heated up onstage to reveal a flirty sequined racerback mini (if you love the teal hue try LaROK’s Studded Dream Dress in Eden, Misile’s Amsterdam Dress in Midnight Teal, or Walter’s Pleated Ruffle Poly Dress in Turquoise). Making it a little edgy with black knee high boots and a thick black beaded cuff (like Ettika’s funky Leather Knot and Faceted Metal Bead 3x Wrap in Black), I can’t deny Taylor looked pretty cute while dancing around onstage. The sequined mini looks seems to be all over the place this season (Katy Perry, Eva Longoria and Paris Hilton are just a few who have sported the completely sparkly look lately), but with the boots and jacket Taylor makes it day-time appropriate and I like that. Although Taylor looks as young and fresh as ever onstage, she was still awake two hours before she was supposed to be up for the show wasting time on her MySpace blog: “So.. This is not smart. This. Being awake at 2:47 AM. You know why? Because my wakeup call is at 5:00 AM. I’m playing on the Today show tomorrow/in a few hours, and I’m very excited about it. Reba McEntire hosted the show and presented Taylor with a surprise award - the Crystal Milestone award for selling more albums than any other country artist this year. Attracting a younger audience to the country music scene doesn't hurt either! In her acceptance speech, Taylor acknowledged the millions of fans that have made her famous: "I want to thank my band and crew who go all over the world with us… And to the beautiful fans, to you guys who come out to my shows, I have absolutely fallen in love with you, and I will never forget you -- ever." Tay also performed twice, "appearing" to play piano and belt out her single "You're Not Sorry" followed by the more energetic hit "Picture to Burn". The “Fearless” singer arrived at the Sydney International Airport with her mama on March 11, dressed appropriately for the seasonal switch down under.
