Taking some time to indulge in her recent success, Beyonce took a romantic trip to St. Barts over the holidays. Out for a day in the sun with her hubby Jay-Z on December 31, it’s a little frightening to see such impractical spike heels on a teetering dock! Dressed in a sexy color block tank dress with multi-toned stones embellishing the neckline (check out Zoa’s Tri Colored Wool Dress in Melange Grey for cooler temps, or Prairie NY’s trademark stone embellished dresses, like the Chain Necklace Dress in Navy Lynx), B walked the plank with her hubby before jetting away on a private boat for the afternoon. I love her shiny little black clutch (see Antoinette Lee’s dainty Mia Bag in Navy Shimmer), flashy gold earrings perfect for the Caribbean (try Lisa K’s Lace Cake Earrings in Gold/Black), and of course her gleaming wedding ring visible in the photo on the right (check out fun options like Rachel Leigh’s Floris Ring in Blue). The look screams Sasha Fierce, no? 2009 is looking bright for B (or is it Sasha?), starting the New Year off right at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the fourth week in a row with “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” How much did you all love dancing to this song when you were out clubbing over the holidays? I wasn’t that big of a fan at first, but it looks like I’m not the only one to change my mind. Even Whitney Port looked like she enjoyed herself when it was played on “The City” last week! Online downloads of the song increased a whopping 150% in the last week of 2008, with the song currently ranking #2 on iTunes. “If I Were a Boy” also remains in iTunes top ten, giving B even more reason to celebrate with a romantic New Year’s Eve sojourn in the sun. You can also look for Beyonce on the big screen this spring, playing a wife whose husband is stalked by a crazy co-worker in the thriller Obsessed with Idris Elba and Ali Larter. You can definitely count on B kicking some ass in the flick – director Steve Shill did plenty of research to get the girl-on-girl fight scenes right. Shill said, “We did look at girl fights on YouTube. There’s a lot of hair pulling, shouting, and rolling around on the ground. We didn’t really want to do that.” When in doubt, always check YouTube!
