With her new album out and just two weeks from the release of Cadillac Records, Beyonce Knowles has been making quite a few public appearances as of late… or should I say, Sasha Fierce has been stealing her thunder? Though she’s been rocking the new persona onstage – complete with her cyborg glove and futuristic costumes – B took a moment out of her busy schedule to ponder her first love: fashion! Beyonce was honored as Seventeen Magazine’s Style Star of the Year in NYC on Nov 19, attending the Hearst Tower soiree in a decadent cabernet colored frock by Jean Paul Gaultier (nab B’s effortless elegance with a similar ruched dress like Walter’s Silk Jersey Ruched Sexy Dress in Cobalt or Lotta Stensson’s Satin Shirt Dress in Wine), augmented by a sky-high hair pouf and chunky beige platforms. Keeping her gems simple with a glitzy pair of swinging pendant earrings (try Kuo Ting’s Amethyst and Purple Coral Earrings in Gold in a similarly decadent hue), B surprisingly left her glimmering wedding ring at home – hope Jay-Z doesn’t notice! I’m not always a fan of Beyonce’s Texas infused style (ahem, the height of her roots tonight), and Seventeen definitely could have gone for a younger fashionista, I think this year is fitting for her to win the award. From her secret marriage to her clothing line to ritzy dates with her new hubby, it has been a tumultuous year for B and it seems every time she steps out the door she manages to look almost fabulous. im a big fan of Beyonce the artist, BUT i think it's time she got a new stylist. im also tired of her style, or lack there off. she needs to change it up. she is a beautiful girl, but her outfits don't do her enough justice. just my personal opinion.guest on Dec 10 2008 @ 07:08 AM
