SPACING OUT IN NYC

Enjoying the NY fashion festivities, Ashlee Simpson was spotted arriving and departing the Ritz Carlton hotel in two coordinating looks on September 7. Ash is in town to support big sis Jessica's new denim collection, which held its launch party later in the day. Ashlee got dropped off at her hotel in a casual summery look, pairing an off shoulder black top (like Boulee's Joe Top in Black) with shredded cut off shorts (check out 7 For All Mankind's Boyfriend Short with Crochet in Adara Blue). Ash wore the same studded open toe booties and black and tan messenger bag (try Linea Pelle's Perry Stud Small Messenger in Cognac, which also comes in Black) with both looks, emerging a short while later with her hair smoothed back in a sassy striped mini dress (similar to Corey Lynn Calter's Strapless Striped Dress in Ivory/Grey) topped with a chic black blazer (check out Moschino Cheap & Chic's Cady Belted Blazer in Black). What are your thoughts on Ashlee's mid-day style transformation, which look is your fav? I have to say I prefer the more polished look on the right, with the booties giving it a little edge. Then again her hair looks so much less disheveled it just gives her whole appearance a boost! Ash and hubby Pete have been traveling back and forth to New York a lot over the past two weeks, attending the US Open Tennis Championship the previous night before getting caught up in the fashion week frenzy. All that travel has to wear down young parents, and Pete recently Tweeted: "To all my friends apologies for spacing out as of late. My brain has been jumbled mess. I think the jet lag of life caught up with me. Sorry" Hope the two of them are recovering now that they're back in LA!
