SNOWY SHOPPERS

Taking a little time off to relax with the fam over the holidays, Kate Hudson has a white Christmas in Aspen, CO and enjoyed a little retail therapy with her mama Goldie Hawn and a gal pal on December 28. Always up for a good time, Kate looked like she enjoyed herself as she spent the afternoon filling shopping bags with her mom, sharing plenty of laughs and an occasional glare at the lingering paps. Braving the frigid weather for the sales, Kate layered up with a graphic teal top (check out Signorelli’s Peace Tree Thermal in Pear) under a cozy sweater (curl up in Smitten’s A Line Cardigan with Bell Sleeves in Oatmeal) and a sophisticated black and charcoal coat (try Suzabelle’s Marin Trench Coat in Tweed), toting a functional black purse (Rough Roses’ Pamila Hobo in Black has similar flap pockets) and a trailing gray scarf. Tucking her infamous blonde locks into a striped ski cap, Kate wore comfy black thermal leggings and heavy duty snow boots to keep her tootsies warm (in less extreme weather, Matiko’s Sweater Boot in Navy would be adorable). It’s a bit rare to see someone able to pull off such a fashionable ‘fit in temperatures this cold, but here we have classic hippie Kate showing us anything is possible – unlike Paris Hilton’s frightening mix of animal prints in the same city a few days ago! Kate’s love of all things outdoors is no secret, and she recently gushed to a British magazine about her enthusiasm for the slopes: “We are a big skiing family. We usually ski in Aspen, Colorado – that’s where our home is and where we grew up. I know those mountains really well, from Ajax and the Aspen Highlands to Snowmass… These days I’m a leisure skier – I go up, have one run, go back up, have a great meal and go back down. But every once in a while I’ll do a mogul run just because it’s thrilling and fun.” Once again it seems that Kate is up for anything physical!
