Getting ready to ring in the New Year, Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson were spotted taking a snowy stroll in Aspen, Colorado on December 31. Both Jess and her man were completely decked out in snow gear, almost to the point where it seemed more appropriate for them to hit the slopes than the shops! Jessica bundled up in a belted parka with a furry trimmed hood (stay toasty in Twisted Heart's Chantal Puff Jacket in Black or Hard Tail's refined yet casual Fleece Fur Collar Jacket in Black) with reindeer accented leggings and fur lined snow boots (keep your chic in slightly less extreme weather with KORS Michael Kors' Stormy Rain Boots in Black). As usual Jess couldn't leave home without an unnecessarily large purse, this time with a unique quilted texture and chain lock accent (try Linea Pelle Collection's modestly sized yet roomy Dylan Perforated Shoulder Bag in Black). What do you think of Jessica's snowy style, does it suit her? I'm sure you're all going to hate the leggings, but I have to say I think they're kind of fun. There are only so many activities that give you the opportunity to dress and act like a little kid, and playing in the snow is definitely one of them! While checking out the shopping scene in Aspen, Jessica headed straight for the Fendi boutique, where her man waited patiently while she browsed the racks. According to a witness: "She was in a good mood and seemed eager to shop. She walked straight over to Fendi where she spent a long time trying on coats and looking at bags." While my boyfriend panics anytime we go near a designer store, Jessica's man has nothing to worry about after the recent news that her fashion endeavors have seriously paid off this year. WWD reported a few weeks ago that all of the shoes, accessories, denim, swimwear, and so on that make up the Jessica Simpson Collection have raked in over $750 million this year! Vince Camuto, a footwear designer who is the master licensee behind Jessica's brand, summed up his thoughts on Jess's success: “She is the girl next door and has great product that surrounds her. People like her. People look at her as a style icon.” With goofy looks like this I can't say I fully agree, but she's definitely doing something right!
