SHOPAHOLIC TAKES MANHATTAN

Stepping out in style, Beyoncé Knowles shopped til she dropped on NYC’s Lower East Side on March 17. Hitting the Patricia Field store with her bodyguard, B emerged from the boutique with plenty of loot and a big smile to match. Loving B’s metal chain purse but it has to weigh a million pounds – would any of you rock it? Most of us would go shopping in comfy shoes, but not Beyoncé. Strolling in her fav black stilettos, B chose a pair of super tight, stretchy skinnies (like Tag Jeans’ Skinny 5 Pocket Jean in Medium Stone) with a plain black tank (try Qi’s twist on the classic tank, the Mesh Yoke Ribbed Tank in Black) and a studded black jacket (get a similar look and be good to the environment with Ecoganik’s Tucked Cuff Jacket in Black). B is great at keeping her ‘fits simple, accessorizing only with her gigantic wedding ring, but what is up with the chain belts around her waist? The bag/belt combo is a little much for me – what do you readers think of the look? Also notice B has her pinky nails painted silver and the rest black. Maybe she got some manicure advice from Rihanna when they had dinner at the Spotted Pig last week? I’ve seen girls out with nails similar to hers and it’s always confused me a little – do any of you partake in the trend? Compared to most other celebs as famous as she, B does a good job of keeping a low-profile life at home with Jay-Z in NYC, but she is definitely aware of the influence she has. B is on the cover of the April issue of Vogue, and said in her interview: “The amount of influence I have on these young girls is scary sometimes. But I also understand how lucky I am to have that.” I’d say B is a pretty good influence compared to other young celebs like LiLo and Paris Hilton, but it has to be a big weight on her shoulders to never slip up.
