SEQUIN OVERLOAD

Attention, Kristen Bell: all the current musicals on Broadway called, they want their sequins back! Shining like the star she is, Kristen attended the Stars for a Cause event at the Golden Globes Salute to Young Hollywood Party in LA on Dec 17. Decked out in a pair of high waist Monique Lhuillier pants covered in a plethora of sequins, you couldn’t miss Kristen schmoozing with the other young celebs in attendance at Nobu restaurant in Hollywood. For her final red carpet appearance before the New Year, KB started with a simple Enza Costa Rogue tank (like Qi’s Chiffon Vest in Arctic White) tucked into loose fitting high waist trousers (tone down the look with Pierce Jeans’ not-quite-black Katherine High Waist Trouser in Midnight Blue) and elegant black pointy toe heels. Letting her shiny silver fan necklace (make a more refined statement with Robyn Rhodes’ Deirdre Necklace in Gold) catch the light around her neck, KB added a couple of thin bangle bracelets (try Robyn Rhodes’ Vicki Cuff in Gold to match the above) and let her pants do all the talking. Despite the theatrical resemblance, I actually don’t think the pants are a bad pick for the holidays, but I wish Kristen would’ve toned down the peachy cheeks and electric blue eyeshadow – a little too 80’s in my opinion. How do you feel about the pants – hot or absolutely not? KB never misses a chance to be charitable, and she jumped at the chance to design a few jewelry pieces for the event, which will be auctioned off at an LA art gallery in May. I’m hoping this explains the necklace she’s wearing – otherwise I’d say the design is way too bold to complement the sequined pants! Charming the press as always, Kristen told InStyle how much she enjoyed the event, "It's a nice chance to see friends before you all separate and go home for the holidays." Guess that means KB will be braving the storms and heading back to her native Detroit, MI for the holidays.
