SASSY IN STRIPES

Modeling her own designs, Katie Holmes steps out at the 2010 National Movie Awards in London on May 26. While I think she looks very refreshing here, I'm not all that crazy about her look here. The tan and black striped Holmes & Yang maxi is a fun look for summer (own the look with Ella Moss' Liberty Dress in Navy/White or Suzabelle's Longmire Dress in Sailor Stripe) but the black peep toe booties are a little hard in my opinion (I would have gone with something lighter yet still dressy like Gwyneth Shoes' Tanya in Black). Are any of you feeling the same? Katie kept her accessories simple with a teardrop pendant necklace (add a little elegant with Robyn Rhodes' Deirdre Necklace in Gold). Love Katie's casual waves framing her face, and even Tom on her arm isn't ruining this fun look. What are your thoughts, readers? At the movie awards ceremony, Tom was honored with the "Screen Icon" award, presented to him by Gwyneth Paltrow. Congrats to him! Despite the criticism they receive, TomKat is on their way to becoming an icon in their own way, having launched a new endeavor dancing together at the "Fine Romance" benefit last month. A friend told OK Magazine: "Tom wants them to become the new Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire… He loves the idea of performing on stage with her.” Interesting! Do you see a new career for TomKat emerging?
