Sarah Jessica Parker was born March 25, 1965 in Nelsonville, Ohio, to parents Stephen Parker and Barbra Forste. Trained in singing and ballet, Sarah was cast at a young age in the Broadway production of "The Innocents", which prompted her family to relocate to New Jersey. From there she went on to star as Annie in the Broadway production of "Annie". After starring in multiple major films throughout the 80s and 90s, Sarah went on to land her largest role as a star role in HBO series "Sex and the City". As Manhattan sex-columnist Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah took the fashion world by storm both off and on the screen. Her innovative and inventive style grasped magazine pages everywhere. Even while the show is no longer on air, Sarah Jessica Parker continues to identify the cutting edge fashion world with her fresh looks and show stopping outfits. Her marriage to actor Matthew Broderick is one of the most highly publicized marriages in Hollywood today. As one of the most respected and long lasting actresses in Hollywood, Sarah is definitely one we won't be seeing go away anytime soon.
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Mar 27 2013 in Toronto, Canada. In addition to Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker also attended the launch of Target's Canada location, which was held at the Shoppers World Danforth location in Toronto on March 27. Outfit wise, SJP decided to keep things sleek yet with a touch of whimsy. Starting with a blazer with an interesting cut (Bailey 44's Racket Jacket in Navy is similar), Sarah Jessica then added on a bright, oversized floral detail on her left shoulder and wore a sheer button up blouse (like Joie's Modine in Caviar). A pair of cropped white denim was next - for two similar options, take a look at either AG Jeans' Stilt Rollup in White or James Jeans' Cori in Frost White. A pair of pointed toe black pumps added the final touch to her red carpet look. Are you into it on this occasion, everyone? In other SJP news, the former "Sex and the City" star recently celebrated her 48th birthday - any guesses how she celebrated? Well, she took in Tilda Swinton's sleepy exhibit at New Yorkís Museum of Modern Art with her husband and son. According to Daily Mail, "Parker and her family were eager to see the Scottish Oscar winner's exhibit called The Maybe, which consists of the actress sleeping in a glass box for seven hours a day. According to People magazine, the Ed Wood actress was seen 'laughing' and 'excitedly chatting with Broderick and two male friends' as Tilda dozed nearby. " This whole exhibit of Tilda sleeping is so strange to me... do you have any thoughts on it?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Feb 03 2013 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out for an appearance on "LIVE! With Kelly & Michael" in NYC on January 3, looking chic in stripes as she headed to the studio. For her television outfit, SJP paired a striped dress (for two options that incorporate stripes, check out either Woodleigh's Racer Dress in Navy Mix or Charlotte Tarantola's Metro in Black) under an oversized blazer (for a classic option, try Ella Moss' Mozzy Blazer in Black) and a pair of black pointed toe pumps. A gunmetal manicure and an oversized printed tote (check out Big Buddha's Courtney Bag in Green) completed SJP's outfit. Do you like her early morning style on this occasion, friends? In other SJP news, the Carrie Bradshaw gal recently teamed up with Kenneth Cole to design a limited edition handbag that will be auctioned live at the New York amfAR Gala on February 6. In addition to being auctioned at the amfAR Gala, the bag will make its runway debut at the Kenneth Cole fashion show on February 7. In order to raise additional funds for amfAR, 20 of the bags will be sold during the live stream of the fashion show with 100% of the proceeds being donated to amfAR. Says SJP: "It's been an amazing experience to collaborate with Kenneth Cole on the design of a handbag supporting amfAR. Kenneth has used his platform as a fashion designer for nearly 30 years to advocate for amfAR's mission to end AIDS. I'm thrilled this bag will help raise money and awareness for the 30 million people living with HIV and AIDS." Sarah Jessica always seems eager to help out a deserving cause, cheers for her!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Oct 15 2012 in Beverly Hills, CA. Sarah Jessica Parker was photographed on the red carpet of the 2012 Elle Women in Hollywood celebration which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 15, looking polished and stylish as always in her dove grey Calvin Klein Collection strapless dress. From there, SJP added on a pair of pointed toe Manolo Blahnik heels, several delicate gold bangles, and a pair of drop Fred Leighton earrings. If you like the color scheme that she's rocking here, you can recreate her look in a more casual way by pairing either Saint Grace's Maxi w/ Contrast in Heather or Nicole Miller's LS Dress in DVG with similar jewelry to SJP's. I would suggest Sophia & Chloe's Friendship Bangle in Gold with Athena Designs' Labradorite Drop Earrings. A smoky eye and sleek, straight locks provided the final beauty touches for her elegant ensemble. Is this red carpet look a winner for SJP in your eyes, readers? In other Sarah Jessica news, the former "Sex and the City" lady is speaking out about her role as a Vogue editor on this season of "Glee," saying: "This look is not like Carrie Bradshaw. It's fashion, but it's not crazy and eccentric. We're doing very strong, simple shifts. It's sexy, hard, and facilitative." Very believable for a Vogue editor, wouldn't you say? In fact, it's been rumored that none other than Anna Wintour worked closely on the wardrobe of SJP's character, which included pieces from Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra, Belstaff and Fendi. Of course it did!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 05 2012 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker took a quick moment to pose for a photograph at the 2012 Couture Council for the Museum at FIT's Award for Artistry of Fashion Presentation, which was held at the David H. Koch Theater in NYC on September 5. SJP was there to honor the award's recipient, Oscar de la Renta - with whom she's worn numerous times, both on "Sex and the City" and in real life. Here, Sarah Jessica was seen wearing a red printed ODLR frock (for a more casual, solid option, check out Kay Unger's Halter V Neck in Red; for something printed - and a bit more quirky - check out Desigual's Vest Chopsticks in Pink) paired with spotted Manolo Blahnik heels and a black Martin Margiela blazer (try Tart's Tallie Blazer in Black). Jewelry wise, SJP was seen wearing a studded gold cuff (to get the look, try stacking several of Satya Jewelry's Contoured Woven Gold Cuff) with several other bangles and a pair of Fred Leighton stud earrings. Are you into this look for SJP on this occasion, everyone? In other, non-fashion-related SJP news, the actress was recently spotted taking her son James back to school for his first day! Clad in a "Bodies: The Exhibition" t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, James looked ready to conquer his first day in style. SJP, on the other hand, always impresses with her street style, opting for a simple combo of printed skinny pants and a green t-shirt. Such a stylish family!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Mar 07 2012 in Paris, France. Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance at the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2012 show at Paris Fashion Week on March 7, taking a moment to vogue for the cameras before sitting front row. For her LV appearance, SJP donned a very Carrie Bradshaw-esque ensemble, which consisted of a Louis Vuitton Spring 2005 dress from the designer archives. The dress features a sheer lace top with a white skirt, and Sarah Jessica accessorized with a pair of white gloves and pumps, and a few bangles. The standout of this look? Her black bra with an otherwise angelic color scheme. Does the harsh contrast ruin the look for you, or do you think it adds a fashion forward edge? To get SJP's Louis Vuitton look in a more wearable way, try either Sue Wong's Battenburg Lace Short Dress in White, or try pairing Vava by Joy Han's Lace Top Ruffle in Ivory with Tysa's Floor Skirt in White. From there, add a few silver bangles (like Avanessi's Knot Bangle in White Gold) and you'll be set. In other SJP news, the stylish actress recently sat down with Alexander McQueen's Creative Director Sarah Burton for a piece in Interview Magazine, where Sarah Jessica was able to ask the designer whatever was on her mind. When it came to designing Kate Middleton's legendary wedding dress, SJP was curious to know all about the design process. Burton, however, was not able to reveal much, and could only say: "Um, I mean... Iím not actually allowed to talk much about it at all. It was a precious, magical time that Iíll always treasure, and I feel like she gave me a gift in many ways. I feel incredibly privileged." Do you think she signed a royal nondisclosure agreement?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Feb 08 2012 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker caused quite a stir as she walked onto the red carpet of the 2012 amfAR New York Gala that was held at Cipriani Wall Street on February 8, as the fashionista paired her Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 gown with a Theyskens' Theory biker jacket. Personally, I love that SJP takes chances on the red carpet and puts her own spin on what might otherwise be an ordinary red carpet look. There's no denying that the dress is beautiful, and while many were shocked that Sarah Jessica would dare to wear this jacket with it, I think she pulls it off. White gloves, a sparkly silver bracelet, grey pumps and a grey shoulder bag completed SJP's ensemble. To create your own version of this look, I would suggest pairing a beautiful gown, such as Sue Wong's Ribbon Mermaid Maxi in Champagne, with a tough-looking jacket, like True Grit's Zip Jacket in Black. It's all about the unexpected! From there, accessorize with Jessica Elliot's Sterling Handcuff Bracelet in Silver and tote Julie K Handbags' Robin in Bubble Lamb. What's your take on Sarah Jessica's outfit here, everyone? In other SJP news, the former "Sex and the City" star stepped in to replace Demi Moore in the role of feminist icon Gloria Steinem in the upcoming biopic Lovelace. The film's star, Amanda Seyfried, recently spoke out about how much she loved the fact that SJP was able to fill Demi's shoes. Says Amanda: "One day, I was like, 'Listen, what can I do? You keep throwing around names, but who do we really want?' They were like, 'Sarah Jessica Parker.' I was like 'Yes, please. Where is she? What is she doing?' So I called her agent, whom I've never met and asked, 'What can we do to get her involved? We have three days. We need her.' And I emailed her that day and she was on a plane three days later. And she was incredible. She's so good. I'm so grateful that she came in. I wish she'd been there for longer. It was a really hard situation because Demi had worked really hard and she was so prepared and so ready and nobody expected her to not be able to do it -- she didn't either. I knew she wanted to do it, but she knew she had to take care of herself. It's hard when you're pulling for someone, but they can't do it and you have to substitute them." Do you think Sarah Jessica was a good choice to replace Demi?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Dec 04 2011 in Washington, DC. Never one to shy away from bold fashion choices on the red carpet, Sarah Jessica Parker donned this stylish black Theyskensí Theory Fall 2011 gown with a fitted bodice and voluminous skirt at the 34th Kennedy Center Honors on December 4 in Washington, DC. This is definitely a love-it or a hate-it garment, but I think that SJP has just the right amount of attitude and elegance to pull off something like this. Other starlets who share her petite frame easily could have gotten lost in this powerful of a look, but as always, SJP nails it. If you're looking for a black maxi dress to make your own statement in, check out both Sena's Slit Maxi Dress in Black and Meghan Los Angeles' Faith Long Dress in Black. For the rest of her outfit, SJP wore a stunning pair of Fred Leighton earrings (get the look with one of Anna Beck's amazing earrings, such as the Medium Woven Knot Earring in Silver and the Sterling Silver Dish Earring) and an I'm-sure-they're-fabulous pair of hidden Manolo Blahnik heels. I can't wait to hear what you have to say about this look, and whether you love or loathe it! The "Sex and the City" star recently spoke to Stella Magazine about her approach to dressing these days, saying: "Anything I can put on quickly and not embarrass my son in [I'll wear.] I try to dress appropriately for my age and I'm a realist about what I look like." She goes on to discuss how worrying about what to wear is the least of her problems. Says Sarah Jessica: "If those physical things were my insecurities I'd be thrilled. What wonderful problems. My insecurities are more substantial than that. I worry first and foremost about my children and their health. My husband, and his. I worry about what work opportunities will come up. My own creative satisfaction. How will I pursue things and will the work be good?" Very interesting... thoughts?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 22 2011 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker opted for a lace moment at the New York City Ballet Fall Gala held at the David H. Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center on September 22, rocking a Stella McCartney Spring 2012 dress with a floral pin that is oh-so-Carrie-Bradshaw. Try either Meghan Los Angeles' Faith Dress in Ivory or Sue Wong's Battenburg Lace Short Dress in White. From there, SJP wore a pair of army green pumps and toted a small bag with chain detailing (check out Julie K Handbags' Lynn in Ecru). Jewelry wise, Sarah Jessica kept it simple, choosing only a few delicate bangles, a black pearl necklace, and dainty drop earrings. For a totally unique look, check out Christie Martin Jewelry's Small Sharktooth Earrings in 14k Gold. Are you enjoying this outfit on SJP here, everyone? For those of you who are "Sex and the City" fans, I'm sure you're eager to hear what Sarah Jessica thought when she heard that her co-star Kristin Davis adopted a baby girl! Funny enough, her new child's name is Gemma Rose, and Rose is the name of her daughter on "SATC"! According to SJP: "[That coincidence did] occur to me. But itís a beautiful old-fashioned name, and Kristin is a really old fashioned girl. Sheís a southern-raised kind of... She has a real traditional streak, so I think itís a beautiful name... Itís nice. She lives in Los Angeles and I live here [in New York], so Iíve not met her [baby] yet, but Iím so happy for her and I just could not be happier for Kristin. Itís a wonderful situation. I know sheís wanted to have a family for a long time and she deserves that unique kind of happiness that children bring and Iím so happy for her.Ē Very sweet!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 08 2011 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker made a vibrant appearance as the made her way to the "Late Show with David Letterman" at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NYC to promote her newest film I Don't Know How She Does It on September 8, rocking a color blocked look by Prabal Gurung. Wearing Gurung's bright red blouse with neon pink wool pants, there's no denying that SJP definitely made a fashion statement! The look was finished off with a pair of white pointed toe pumps, and while I'm not usually ever a fan of white heels, I don't mind them too much on this occasion. If you are interested in trying out the color blocking trend for yourself and like this color palette of Sarah Jessica's, take a look at this selection of bright pieces: Alice & Trixie's Fuchsia Amber Top, Nanette Lepore's Sundrenched Top in Hot Pink, Luc by Lucy's Charming Alice Top in Ruby, and The Battallion's 5 Pocket Twill Skinny Pants in Red. Thoughts, everyone? Do you like this look or is it a bit much for your liking? For those of you who are interested in checking out SJP's newest flick, you may be interested to hear what The Hollywood Reporter thought of it. According to the mag, "The lead character of Kate Reddy, portrayed with an effortless verve by ever-affable Sarah Jessica Parker, is easy to root for, even if the vehicle itself feels less than fresh and inspired. Still, thanks to Parkerís empathetic performance and the fine work of her top-notch supporting cast, the Weinstein Company release should prove relatable to female audiences of a certain age." Have any of you seen the movie, and if so - thoughts?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 01 2011 in London, England. Stepping out for a photo call for her new film I Donít Know How She Does It that was held at the Soho Hotel in London, England on September 1, Sarah Jessica Parker wowed in a vibrant Prabal Gurung frock. Proving that she's still one of the most stylish moms on the block, SJP accessorized with a gorgeous pair of Charlotte Olympia platform heels, along with a Fred Leighton necklace and a Richard Rivas ring. From there, step into Raphael Young's Patent Pump with Lacquered Heel in Black, which are just as memorable as her Charlotte Olympia pair. Finish off your look with Danielle Stevens Jewelry's Crystal Necklace with Grey Agate Stones. Are you into this ensemble on SJP, everyone? In other news, the "Sex and the City" star recently opened up to Parade about her private family life. Says Parker: "Weíve had two occasions recently where both Matthew and I were working, and it was so hard on the kids. Especially James Wilkie, because he can really articulate how he feels about our absence. On the other hand, there are big chunks of time when weíre home a lot more than conventionally working parents. So you hope to make up for it. We love closing the door and having the only people in the house be our three children and us. Itís such a good feeling to know that weíre competent and capable and that itís private. On a typical evening, I give the girls their bath. Matthew cooks amazing things ó last Saturday, pasta amatriciana and broccoli rabe, plus fennel sausage that he made. He does complex things, and I make simple things for the children. Sounds very cool.
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Mar 06 2011 in New York, NY. Stepping out for the opening night of the Broadway show "That Championship Season" at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in NYC on March 6, Sarah Jessica Parker dazzled in a Halston Heritage look. From there, SJP slipped into a pair of Charlotte Olympia pumps and belted her look with a shimmering silver belt (try Motif 56's Karen in Black). For the finishing touch, Parker toted a cool Judith Leiber clutch, similar to Whiting & Davis' Deco Print Clutch in Pewter. Are you into SJP's ensemble here, everyone? For those of you who were intrigued when we reported that the actress hinted that she'd be interested in returning for Sex and the City 3, Sarah Jessica went and added more fuel to the fire! She told the Los Angeles Times: "I would go back. I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is. I'd definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael would do it right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know? It's not that I want to get away from it. In a million years, who could get away from it?" When asked about the rumor that Blake Lively might be portraying a young Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel, SJP said: ""I was like, 'Wha-a-a-a-t?' There are a lot of important and interesting stories that 21-year-olds can tell. I don't begrudge any 21-year-old the opportunity to tell their stories. They prove to us on an everyday basis that they're interesting. Even their narcissism is interesting. Even their inertia is interesting. Even their tonal speech patterns are interesting. But I don't think we can pretend to go back. It's creating two histories. It's like, 'Oh I didn't know that about Carrie Bradshaw.'" Readers, weigh in!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Oct 13 2010 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was photographed walking her son James to school in NYC on October 13 - what a great mom! After dropping James off at school, SJP then headed off to take care of career matters as she attended a business meeting. Proving she's still got it when it comes to the style department, Sarah Jessica paired a figure hugging striped dress (try Wit.'s One Shoulder Capri Dress in Blue/White) under a statement making blue coat (for two other unique coat options on CoutureCandy, check out Walter's Khaki Flocked Trench in Khaki and Aude's Kate Voile Jacket in Boysenberry) and a pair of edgy black heels. From there, SJP toted a bright red bag and slipped on a warm scarf (keep the stripes going with Aude's Light Grey Striped Scarf) and a pair of movie star shades. Are you loving or loathing SJP's ensemble, readers? For those of you who are "Sex and the City" fans - then again, who isn't? - you might be pleased to know that there's still hope that "SATC 3" will be made. Sarah Jessica recently said, "I donít know the future; I would say that you never know what will happen with that particular franchise. Itís less about the reviewers than it is about the audience, and theyíve been pretty true, so we tend to listen to them more than anybody else." Ooooh... fingers crossed!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Aug 07 2010 in East Hampton, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance with hubby Matthew Broderick at a special Cinema Society-sponsored screening of Showtime's new show "The Big C" that was held at clothing designer Donna Karan's private home in East Hampton, NYC on August 7. Keeping her look casual, SJP paired a heather tank dress (try T by Alexander Wang's Classic Pocket Tank Dress in Forest) with a slouchy camel colored coat (camel is SO in for fall, check out Suzabelle's Nicolet Trench Coat in Classic Taupe), and slipped into a comfy pair of flat sandals for the show's screening. Accessory wise, Sarah Jessica toted a metallic clutch (get the look with Jalda's Fabric Kona Clutch in Bronze) and wore a sparkling layered necklace (I love the stones in Ija Designs' Triple Strand Necklace in Gold) to add some polish to her ensemble. What are your thoughts here, readers - as far as I'm concerned, it's just strange seeing SJP not rocking a killer pair of heels! You may or may not know that Sarah Jessica served as one of the producers on Bravo's hit series "Work of Art," which pits contemporary artists against each other for the chance at a solo exhibition, and it seems like the show scored such great ratings that it's getting picked up for season 2! For the finale, the show's numbers jumped 21% from the previous week, netting around 1.12 million viewers for the first season. Pretty impressive - looks like SJP has a reason to celebrate!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Jul 13 2010 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was photographed showing off her savage street style while heading home in NYC on July 13, looking to be in a hurry to escape the paparazzi's prying eyes (and cameras!). For her look, SJP started with a pair of cuffed white jeans (try 7 for All Mankind's Roxanne in Bone) that she paired with a basic neutral tee (love T by Alexander Wang's Classic Pocket Tee in Dust) and a cool blue necklace (for something similar that's multicolored, try Ija Designs' Destiny Necklace in Gold). Sarah Jessica finished off her look with a pair of oversized sunglasses, strappy heels and a white tote bag (check out Rough Roses' Roxy Shopper in Cream). What are you thinking about SJP's look here everyone - is this something you would rock for a day of errands? In SJP style news, it seems that this fashionista is embracing a trend that's blowing up with kids right now... Silly Bandz! These are multicolored rubber bands in different shapes that kids are obsessed with. Sarah Jessica recently appeared on CBS' "The Early Show" wearing one, perhaps given to her by son James Wilkie? So funny!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Jun 07 2010 in New York, NY. The eternally stylish Sarah Jessica Parker showed up to the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards at Lincoln Centerís Alice Tully Hall in NYC on June 7 in a stunning outfit that was a tribute to SJP's close friend and late designer Alexander McQueen. Later that evening, Sarah Jessica introduced a segment honoring Mr. McQueen during the awards ceremony. While there's clearly no substitute for SJP's out-of-control pink and purple patterned Pre-Fall 2010 Alexander McQueen gown, check out a few of the patterned maxi dresses currently featured on CoutureCandy, such as Meghan Fabulous' Lily Rose Dress in Pink, Sue Wong's Bollywood Party Dress in Multi, and LaROK's County Fair Maxi Dress in Black Multi. SJP completed her look with a charcoal tote and loads of Stephen Russell jewelry. Love CC Skye's Chloe Lock Bracelet in Black/Gold if you're looking for a big, chunky bracelet - it's very reminiscent of the Hermes Collier de Chien cuff bracelet. What are your thoughts on Sarah Jessica's statement-making McQueen tribute gown, readers - is this a look that you think only a true fashionista like SJP can pull off without looking like she's trying too hard? It seems that the night was a great one for Sarah Jessica, as the CFDA Awards' official Twitter page noted that SJP was "so sweet- she's posing with all of her fans!" Love it! So cute.
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on May 24 2010 in New York, NY. All eyes were on Sarah Jessica Parker as she attended the NYC premiere of her hotly anticipated film Sex and the City 2 on May 24, wearing an eye-catching neon yellow Valentino Spring 2010 Couture gown. This vibrant choice was a bit of an unexpected choice for SJP, and I have to say that I am loving it! The brightness of the dress really complements her blonder hair and bronze glow. For a similar look to Sarah Jessica's, check out Sue Wong's gorgeous asymmetrical One Shoulder Ruched Goddess Gown in Cobalt, or for something perfect for summertime in a vibrant shade of yellow, check out Sky's Stargaze Dress in Lemon. From here, SJP slipped into a pair of satin silver Ferragamo platform pumps and adorned her right wrist with a handful of silver bangles (get the look with Alex and Ani's Set of 7 Expandable Wire Bangles w/ Ribbed in Silver and Amrita Singh's Kimberly Bangle in Silver). What was your first thought when seeing this Sarah Jessica outfit, readers? Did her red carpet attire live up to all of your hopes for this big premiere? It's no surprise that SATC2 is going to be the hottest ticket at movie theatres when it opens this weekend, some are already beginning to speculate whether SATC author Candace Bushnellís latest book, "The Carrie Diaries," will be turned into a movie. The book tells the story of Carrie Bradshaw at 17 years old, and when Sarah Jessica was asked who she thinks should play a younger Carrie, guess what she said? Herself! Come again? Says SJP, "It makes perfect sense [that another actress would be cast]. And I would like to be generous of spirit and say, ĎOf course,í and, ĎI will do so if that is asked of me.í" Doesn't seem like she's too anxious to give up the role, though! She continued, "Itís just, I donít know. I canít imagine anyone else playing Dorothy Gale ó just Judy Garland." Who do you see in the oh-so-fabulous shoes of Carrie at a younger age, readers?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Apr 30 2010 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance on the red carpet of the Tribeca Talks "Ultrasuede In Search of Halston" during the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival last night, April 30, held at the School of Visual Arts Theater. For her glitzy ensemble, it appears that SJP paired a sheery grey slouchy sweater (like Wit.'s Light Weight Boyfriend Cardi in Grey) over a sequined cocktail dress (similar to Robert Rodriguez's Sequin Tank Dress in Blush), and although it took me a minute to warm up to this creative combination, true to form I think that SJP is rockin' this look. She finished up her 'fit with a pair of strappy stilettos, a sparkly pendant (I love Calico Juno Designs' Large Amethyst Briolette Necklace in Gold/Green) and a chain shoulder bag (Julie K Handbags' Renee Flap Shoulder Bag is great). What do you think of this look on Sarah Jessica - do you think it translates to the red carpet? For those of you who are "Sex and the City" fans - but then again, who isn't? - I'm sure you've seen the newly released poster for the upcoming film that features all of the girls, not just Sarah Jessica. If you haven't checked it out yet, take a look here. Since the poster was released, it has caught a lot of flack for the massive amounts of airbrushing and Photoshop hours that it's obviously gone through, but what is your opinion - did they go overboard?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Mar 18 2010 in Las Vegas, NV. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted looking absolutely stunning as she appeared at "The Big Picture 2010" event at ShoWest 2010 in Las Vegas, NV on March 18. Sarah Jessica appeared with her "Sex and the City" co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis at the affair, as the ladies accepted the Best Ensemble award at the ceremony for their word in "SATC." Congrats are definitely in order! For her outfit, SJP chose a beautiful yellow Lanvin one-shouldered dress (if you are smitten with this bright and sunny shade, try Fernanda Carneiro's Herringbone and Jaquard Sweetheart Dress in Goldenrod or Woo's Sol Dress in Warm Sun) that she paired with pale pink, almost nude, heels with a metallic gold platform (for a great pair of basic nude pumps, try Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Sabia Pump) and one single gold bangle (similar to Jules Smith's Super Stud Bangle in Yellow Gold). Rosy cheeks and a loose, wavy hairdo completed the look. What are your thoughts on SJP here, readers - do you like? Sarah Jessica recently spoke out about a few of her favorite memories in making "SATC 2," saying "We hope we made a movie that lives up to expectations. We've never laughed harder or talked more or spent more time together." So who is Sarah Jessica's fave co-star between Cynthia, Krisin, or Kim? Neither, it's a camel! "The camels were beautifully trained. Cynthia and Kristin were on one camel and they had the most grumpy, ornery camel. Ours was so sweet, but then out of nowhere our camel would sit. You have to understand, it's not like a bike and the bike fell over. It's a camel, and the camel would just sit. And when they sit, it's a little like an earthquake. We laughed so hard." Sounds like so much fun!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Mar 10 2010 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out for the Bravo Upfront Party that was held at Skylight Studios in NYC on March 10, sporting a stylish Stella McCartney outfit. Starting with a Stella McCartney nude lace dress (for similar options, try Sue Wong's All Over Soutache Lace Dress in Beige or KEEMiA's Roxanne Halter Dress with Feather in Pink) under a white Stella McCartney blazer (similar to Alice + Olivia's Linen Eon Blazer in White), SJP piled on the jewelry with a stack of sparkling silver bangles (try Alex and Ani's Set of 7 Signature Expandable Wire Bangles in Silver) and several layered necklaces (why not mix and match Kimberly Faith's 48" Patchwork Necklace in Gold and Silver with Robyn Rhodes' Grace Necklace in Gold?). I absolutely love love love the Stella garments and the jewelry on Sarah Jessica... but my adoration stops at her ankles. Black heels?? I'm sorry, but they make absolutely no sense with this ensemble. The dress and blazer and jewelry are so light and perfect for spring, the heels just weigh the whole look down and are so unimaginative. Drats! If you're wondering what the heck SJP is doing at the Bravo upfronts, she's currently producing a new show for the network, called "Work of Art." Of the project, she says, "The truth is I just donít know a great deal about art. I love it, and Iím a great enthusiast, but I thought there was a whole world of people just like me who feel slightly intimidated by the art world." Parker continues, "There are also countless artists who are working in obscurity, and I thought there was a time in our country where we supported our artists and wouldnít it be great it we could go support artists and give them an audience. And we could, as Americans learn about what it is to be an artist, and about art and how we feel about art." Are any of you interested in tuning in?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Feb 21 2010 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted braving the chilly NYC temps with hubby Matthew Broderick on February 21, while toting along an armful in her left hand, including a newspaper, a box, and her sunglasses. For her outfit, SJP started with a pair of grey denim (try Hudson Jeans' Signature Boot Jean in Amused) messily tucked into black boots, along with a purple graphic tee (like Simdog's Dreamcatcher Short Sleeve Tee in Amethyst/Black) and a black jacket (check out Zoa's Classic Cropped Blazer in Black). SJP accessorized her ensemble with a black fedora, a heavily detailed bag (try Inge Christopher's Jaipur Curved Frame Pouch in Multi), and one of Alexander McQueen's signature skull scarves as a touching tribute to her good friend. What are you thinking about SJP's look here - casual chic at its best, or a bit sloppy? For those of you who are fans of one of Sarah Jessica's perfumes, good news: Parker is all set to launch her sixth, yes that's correct, her sixth fragrance. This one will appropriately be named "SJP in NYC." Cute! When asked to describe the scent, Sarah Jessica said "Itís like when they ring the recess bell, that excitement of the beginning of summer." The perfume is said to mix Italian mandarin with wild red strawberries, with notes of gardenia and honeysuckle. Sounds divine!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Dec 08 2009 in London, England. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted glamming up the red carpet of the London premiere of her new movie Did You Hear About the Morgans?, braving the freezing cold temps in the name of glamour. For her look, SJP chose a hot fuchsia strapless LíWren Scott jacquard mini dress (for similar body con looks, try Lotta Stensson's Shirred Mini Tube Dress in Poppy or Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent's Ruffle Front Strapless Dress in Fuchsia, which has an added dash of playful ruffles) that she paired with a beautifully sexy S.J. Phillips serpentine necklace (incorporate the snake motif into your look in a subtle way by choosing Jessica Elliot's Vermeil Ruby Eyed Snake Charm Necklace), a pair of simple stud earrings (try Jacquie Aiche's Herkimer Stud Earrings in Gold) and purple Charlotte Olympia stilettos. Overall I think Sarah Jessica looks incredible here, this dress is a great color on her and the length perfectly shows off her toned gams. What are your thoughts readers, do you think she hit this one out of the style ballpark, or missed the mark? While it's tough for any working mother to juggle newborn twins with a hectic work schedule, it must be insane for SJP to do so! She recently spoke out about how she regrets taking on Sex and the City 2", saying "It's been very different than when James (her son) arrived, since our family expanded in an untraditional way. We didn't plan on having two, but were doubly blessed, and it's been just wonderful. [Tabitha and Marion] just turned four months old. One would prefer to be held 24 hours a day, and the other is already suffering from type A issues. It's been amazing but complicated because of my current work schedule, which I have enormous regrets about." I'm sure the SATC fans are definitely grateful that she did decide to take on the role, though!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 18 2009 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was in full Carrie Bradshaw mode as she strutted through the streets of NYC yesterday, September 18, while being hounded by fans, photographers, and crew (I love that paparazzi behind her with that look of desperation in her eyes). For her look, Patricia Field picked out a stunning beaded green dress (for similar options, try Cake Couture's Ikat Print Tank Dress, or Gold Hawk's Sleeveless Flower Eyelet Dress in Horizon or their Tribal Queen Dress in Nile Green) with amazing cobalt, black and grey wavy patterned peeptoe ankle booties, accompanied by a purple, pink and blue snakeskin clutch (for other eyecatching clutches, check out Julie K Handbags' Cosmo Bag in Azure or Moyna Handbags' Embroidered Floral Clutch in Purple/Lime) and a dainty pendant necklace. For her hair, SJP had a loose updo with the bottom half down and wavy. What are your thoughts everyone - how does this look rank up compared to all of the other outfits you've seen so far on set? Ever since filming started on the sure-to-be-a-hit Sex and the City sequel, the crowds surrounding the actresses having gone from crazy to full-on out of control. This had made the security on the film oomph up quite a bit. A source says, "Sarah Jessica's security guards looked more like they were protecting the President than Sarah Jessica Parker. At one point, teenage girls were practically trampling each other trying to get to Sarah Jessica as she was walking back to her trailer, but her security team was shoving everyone out of the way." Yikes! Sounds intense. But then again, I probably would freak out too if I saw SJP in all of her Carrie Bradshaw fabulousness!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 01 2009 in New York, NY. "Sex and the City" fans rejoice! Carrie Bradshaw herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, was spotted frolicking on set for the first day of filming the hotly anticipated sequel to the first Sex and the City movie, in NYC on September 1. SJP, or should I say Carrie, was dressed in a breezy white summer dress (check out Woo's Camille Dress in White or Qi's Mesh Ornate V-Neck Dress in Pearl Heather for two similar choices) with shimmering gold Christian Louboutin pumps, super reflective gold aviators and a matching clutch (try Antoinette Lee Designs' Vita Snake Clutch in Gold) with an eye-catching jeweled necklace (check out Amy Digregorio's Maplewood Necklace) to finish things off. What are your initial thoughts on Carrie's first costume change in the film? Are you diggin' it? This sighting also caused a bit of a commotion in the New York Post, as they mistakenly identified her obviously red-soled Loubs as a pair of Jimmy Choos! The horror! The article said, "Parker, wearing angelic white and a pair of gold Jimmy Choo heels with bright red soles, happily cavorted on the Upper East Side before jumping into a cab." Come on now, red soles = Loubs! That's just common fashion sense. A source that was close to the set told Us Weekly, "She comes out as Carrie Bradshaw, puts on her sunglasses, looks around and starts walking. She looks pretty happy to be back at work." I'll bet! SJP must have so much fun coming back to this character that is so dear to everyone's hearts... is anyone out there just dying for the second film?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Jul 18 2009 in Bridgehampton, NY. Stepping out for charity, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick left their new twin babies with the nanny and made their way to Bridgehampon, NY on July 18 for an AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA) charity event held at photog Stephen Klein's sprawling estate. While it's good for them to put on a happy face, Sarah and Matt are looking just a little too picture perfect here, don't you think? I can't help but look at them together and want to paste Big's face over Matt's Ė now THAT would be a cute couple! In true Carrie Bradshaw style, SJP arrived at the "Cocktails at Sunset" event styled to perfection. Although the charity benefit was hosted by Calvin Klein and Vanity Fair, SJP chose to wear a stunning Temperly London strapless dress with a ruched bodice and gold zipper front (for similar strapless looks, check out Rachel Pally's Iris Dress in Periwinkle or Rebecca Taylor's bold Tequila Bingo Dress in Kiwi), accenting the frock with a layered gold chain necklace (Robyn Rhodes' Grace Necklace in Gold is timeless) and a few bangles. Her studded Miu Miu platforms are gorgeous, but I truly adore her beaded floral clutch pulling the 'fit together. Do you think she's completely working this look or am I misguided? At the event, SJP and MB snacked on grilled cheese and sliders apps (carbs are finally making a comeback!) while mingling with Calvin Klein designers Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli hoping to score some new threads. If youíre thinking they both look it a little worn out, it probably has something to do with the arrival of their twin girls born a month ago. While the fam has been settling in with the new babies, Sarah and Matthew are unfortunately dealing with a legal scandal surrounding their surrogate mother. The poor woman had her Ohio house broken into while she was 8 months pregnant by greedy cops looking to dig up dirt to sell to the tabloids. Police chiefs Barry Carpenter and Chad Dojack were arrested on July 28 and arraigned on several counts of burglary and tampering with evidence, which could land them in the pen for 14-21 years. When news of the burglary broke in June, MB's publicist commented: "Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system. But because it's a criminal investigation, we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer." At least justice is on its way to being served, but what a terrible mess for SJP to deal with!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Jan 04 2009 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted with hubby Matthew Broderick and son James Wilkie leaving the final performance of Hairspray on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre in NYC on January 4, which featured original cast members Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur. For an outfit inspired by SJP's chic getup, start with an electric blue velvet jacket, like Elizbeth Gillett Ltd's cropped version, the Lydia Velvet Jacket in Blue), and pair with a long, sheer button-up blouse (take your pick of Zoa's Long Cotton Shirt with Pleating in White or LaROK's flirtier Colette Top in Pearl). Next up, pick a classic pair of trousers (similar to Joe's Jeans' Button Welt Trouser in Morter), a cozy grey cashmere sweater (like Autumn Cashmere's Kimono Flare Sleeve Top in Cement) and a Chanel bag, and you'll be good to go! For those of you "Sex and the City" fans (and fiends), SJP is speaking out about her alter ego and the fact that she doubts that Carrie will ever be with child. She says, "Motherhood doesn't seem as if that's going to be a choice she'll make. It feels a little bit manipulative to toss that into the mix because she seems so pointed in a different direction." I do say I'd have to agree, although I do think that Carrie would make a great mother. What do you think - in the sequel slated for 2010, do you think Carrie should get pregnant with Big?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 10 2008 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted strolling the streets of New York City, chatting away on her cell phone on September 10, after walking son James to school. Looking casual cool in a slouchy pair of pinstripe denim (check out Tag Jeans' Bootcut Trouser in Silver) paired with a violet tee (like Ecoganik's Jersey Love Top in Orchid) and vintage denim vest with a large "BARACK N ROLL" patch on the back, SJP always manages to rock it, even when she trows an outfit together quickly. She finished off her look with an over-the-shoulder canvas bag, oversized sunglasses (check out JeeVice Optics' Egoist Sunglasses in Black), and brown leather sandals (like Matiko Footwear's Karla Sandal in Brown). If you are a "SATC" fan, you might be excited to learn that the word is spreading that author Candace Bushnell is writing a prequel to "Sex," that will take place during Carrie's high school years! Candace wants readers to have a peek into Carrie's adolescence which turned her into who she was in the original book and on the show. Bushnell says, "I've always been interested in exploring Carrie's teenage years. Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd- she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene." Very interesting! Harper Collins, the publishers of the book, say, "Teenagers are rabid fans of the 'Sex and the City' book and show. I can't wait to see what happens when Candace turns her sharp eye for social commentary to the other competitive jungle that is high school." What do you think- will you be reading??
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Sep 08 2008 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted leaving her West Village brownstone on September 8, after spending some quality time with her family on a long vacation after finishing up all of her promotional responsibilities for the Sex and the City Movie. To steal SJP's casual yet chic look, start with a pair of skinny grey denim (like Joe's Jeans' Button Fly Chelsea Jean in Angelica) and cuff them to show off a killer pair of black heels. Next up, pair a blue silk cami (like Black Halo's Contrast Cami in Indigo) with a patterned scarf (similar to Alchemy's Paisley Scarf in Grey) and black sunnies (check out Nour's Madaar Sunglasses in Oro Bianco). SJP's finishing touches were a striped oversized bag and a thick silver cuff (similar to Michele Michel Jewelry's Hammered Cuff in Silver) that perfectly completed her 'fit. In exciting Sarah Jessica news, Us Weekly is reporting this week that the SATC sequel is in the works! An insider says, "Film execs are eager to get Sarah Jessica, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis on board. They're starting to negotiate salaries." Hooray! I for one am a huge SATC fan and any chance to see these characters in action is one I'm definitely on board for!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Aug 20 2008 in London, England. Sarah Jessica Parker, hubby Matthew Broderick and little son James Wilkie were spotted strolling through Heathrow Airport in London on their way to Istanbul, Turkey, after a fun trip in Ireland. Forget Carmen San Diego- where in the world is SJP?? For her casual airport look, Parker paired a cardigan (check out Sydney Los Angeles' 3/4 Sleeve Cardigan in Vanilla Cream) with a tank (like Ella Moss' Daphne Tank in Caramel), a blue patterned scarf (Alchemy's Unicorn Scarf in Blue is similar) and vintage-wash denim (like Kasil Jeans' Mimi Straight Leg Jean in Pacific Destroyed). Add in the oversized shades and flip flops, and you've got an airport 'fit fit for a "Sex and the City" star! In other SJP news, it seems that Sarah dished to press recently about how she loves high heels more than she does sex. When asked if she preferred stilettos to a sensual seduction, she said, without pause, "Yes!" She went on to say, "I could run a marathon in heels and wake up the next day and run another one!" What do you think, ladies- if you had to choose between the two, would you side with Sarah?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Jul 30 2008 in Manhattan, New York. Despite rumors of alleged infidelity, "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted leaving a midtown Manhattan restaurant with her husband of 11 years, Matthew Broderick. Wearing a basic jeans-and-a-tee outfit, SJP and Matthew were bombarded by photogs as they left their dinner. For her outfit, start with a pretty blue tank (like P.G.D. Style's Fancy Tank in Bonnie Blue) and pair with greyish-blue skinnies (check out Joe's Jeans' Button Fly Chelsea Jean in Angelica) and metallic flip flops. Accessory wise, SJP chose a black pearl necklace (like Brian Nagourney Jewelry's Lariat Necklace in Black Pearl) and a tan leather bag (similar to Rough Roses' Jewel Satchel in Tan), along with a yellow cardigan that she held in one hand. While it has been rumored that Matthew cheated on Sarah with a twenty-something young woman, a source is telling Star Magazine that "Sarah and Matthew have been struggling for years. Now that news of Matthewís cheating has broken, they have decided to make things work- especially for the sake of their son, James." What do you think, is it a good idea to stay together for a child's sake?
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on May 03 2008 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted leaving her NYC hotel along with her "Sex and the City" co-stars Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon on May 3, as the ladies were in town for a promotional junket for their upcoming flick, Sex and the City. Not sure if you've heard of it or not, it's kind of a small film that's not getting much buzz. SJP opted for all black, starting with a chic black coat and pairing with zippered cropped denim (just like James Jeans' Alex Skinny Zip Crop Jean in Black), black leather ankle booties and an eye-catching gold pearl necklace (check out Kuo Ting Jewelry's similarly stunning Japanese Pearl Long Necklace in Gold). At the junket, Sarah Jessica told press that "we wanted to tell the story of who these women are now, and what it is to be a woman in your 40's and still have great love." Well put. Cynthia Nixon also chimed in, saying, "These women, the] are the ultimate female superheroes. Itís just that, instead of, you know, capes, they have bags and shoes." So true, so true. What do you think- will you be sippin' on your Cosmos and then lining up to see this flick? I know I will!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Mar 31 2008 in New York, NY. Sarah Jessica Parker attended the screening of her new flick Smart People hosted by the Cinema Society & Linda Wells at the Landmark Sunshine Theater in New York City on March 31 looking like the radiant fashion risk-taker that she is known to be. SJP started her outfit with a pair of shiny black skinny jeans (for those of you looking for a great pair of basic black skinnies, check out James Jeans' Tom 5 Pocket Jean in Black Twill) and paired with a dark blue silk tunic (similar to Ziji's Alice Tunic in Blue) under a hot pink cropped coat (Amberlynn's Cropped Swing Jacket in Canary is a fun version in a vibrant yellow hue). Sarah Jessica accessorized with metallic silver heels, a leopard clutch (like Julie K Handbags' Cosmo Leopard Bag) and a questionable feather slash fan pin? I'm not even going to try and wrap my mind around that one. Many gals have often wondered what SJP's diet secret is that keeps her in these super skinny jeans... and she has finally revealed what it is: she doesn't have one! People is reporting that Sarah says she eats anything and everything, and quoted her as saying, "I'm just an eater. If it's free, I honestly eat everything. Last night I had steak and some lamb shank. And I had some roasted chicken and some cassoulet and some profiteroles and some ice cream and some cheesecake." I love the part about how if it's free she'll eat it... classic. Wow this post just made me hungry.
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Jan 22 2008 in Park City, Utah. Sarah Jessica Parker, along with hubby Matthew Broderick, made her way throughout Park City, UT this past week to help celebrate her film in the Sundance Film Festival. Smart People was debuted this year at the festival starring Sarah alongside Dennis Quaid and Ellen Page. On Tuesday, January 22, Sarah attended the premiere with her cast looking lovely as always in her warm snow gear. Sarah began her chic rocker look with a pair of vintage biker boots over a pair of charcoal tapered jeans (check out Denim of Virtue's Patience 5 Pocket Tapered Jean in Dark Grey). On top, SJP decorated herself in white and black pearls over a low neck black cashmere top (just like Autumn Cashmere's U Neck Tunic Sweater in Black). Sarah Jessica then accessorized her look with a black leather handbag (check out Aaneta's The Wave Small in Cafť with Stress). Sarah has been making sure to keep herself busy lately with two huge debut films. While Smart People is debuting nationwide at the Sundance Film Festival, Sarah is currently working on finishing the filming of big-screen feature Sex and the City, playing everybody's favorite, Carrie Bradshaw. Alongside the original HBO cast, the film is expected to be one of this summer's biggest blockbusters. The trailer is already creating a stir and plenty of buzz for the upcoming feature, making it one of the most viewed videos currently on YouTube. After being known as the fashion forward friend on the "Sex and the City" television series, it will be interesting to see what new trends Carrie Bradshaw will debut this time around when the movie launches. Get the cosmos ready!
Sarah Jessica Parker seen on Dec 10 2007 in Beverly Hills, CA. Eternally stylish Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted in Beverly Hills on December 10, heading into the offices of New Line Cinema in a fashionable outfit that is classic SJP. Wearing a fitted black blazer (like LaROK's cropped version, the Rebecca Cropped Jacket in Black) with a vibrant indigo top, skinny black jeans (check out Deener's Charmer Skinny Corduroy in Black), a black leather bag and her favorite accessory of the season, her leopard print Louis Vuitton scarf, Sarah Jessica always remains a step ahead of the trends as she immediately became the envy of women everywhere with her to-die-for pair of blue suede peeptoe platform Christian Louboutins. Talk about outfit perfection! Rumor has it that SJP is in Los Angeles to film scenes for the hotly anticipated "Sex and the City" movie, and will be filming in Malibu along with the other three "Sex"-y girls. According to E! Online, "scenes will take place there, but parts of the ritzy beach community may also be stand-ins for Mexico's playground for the rich and famous, Cabo San Lucas. There's also talk they'll actually do some shooting in Cabo." Hmm... wonder what trouble the gals will be getting into in Cabo? I'm guessing that Samantha will be up to her usual tricks while Miranda takes Brady to the beach for the first time. Might Carrie and Big be honeymooning in this tropical locale? One can hope!
