RETURN TO CIVILIZATION

Returning to the states after a three month sojourn, Angelina Jolie stepped out with her three eldest children on Sat, October 4 for a little shopping in the Big Apple. Angie, and the rest of the Jolie-Pitt clan, are in town for the 46th New York Film Festival, where the highly publicized The Changeling will premiere. Brangelina will have to find a nanny for the kiddies though – the film is packed with far too much scandal and corruption for any of their little ones! On her shopping endeavor, Angie looked like the picture perfect mama, dressed in classy black slacks (like Black Halo’s Pant with Quilted Belt in Black), a cozy black v-neck sweater (get the same comfort but add some color with Autumn Cashmere’s Ruched V Neck Sweater in African Purple), with a chic white scarf around her neck. Toning her accessories down to the basics, the Wanted star kept her peepers shaded with some square framed sunnies (like Nour’s Baba in Oro Bianco) and toted a large black leather bag (check out Julie K’s Eliza Flat Tote in Black Patent) while carrying toddler Zahara on her hip. Brangelina have had a relaxing summer in the south of France getting to know their newest editions, but that doesn’t mean they’re taking a break from their quest to save the world. A few weeks ago, the Guinness Book of World Records’ recently named “Most Powerful Actor and Actress” of 2009 announced they made a $2 million donation to open a medical clinic in Zahara’s native Ethiopia to care for kids with AIDS and tuberculosis. The clinic is modeled after the facility Bragelina opened in Cambodia in 2006 in Maddox’s name. In a statement, Angie said, "Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease." Brad also chimed in, "It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission." Parents setting up their kids in philanthropic business? Sounds much better than a trust fund – I hope to see more celebs following Bragelina’s example!
