Jessica Simpson has business on her mind while leaving the Ritz Carlton hotel in NYC on September 10 with beau Eric Johnson at her side. After spending a few days in the Big Apple to promote the launch of her new denim line, Jessica seems to have skipped out on the rest of the Fashion Week festivities – at least so far! The happy couple was spotted catching a flight out of JFK later that afternoon, returning to LA to get back to work on her new album. Jess strolled out ready for autumn in a black floral button down blouse (opt for Jenny Han's Kimono Sleeve Tunic in Black Floral or Smitten's Flower Print Ruffle Blouse in Black), wearing slimming black jeggings (love Hudson's Collin Signature Skinny in Holy Well) and chocolate brown boots. Jess carried an eye-catching leopard print tote (unleash your inner animal with Carla Mancini's gorgeous new Tote with Twisted Handles in Tan Python) and dressed up the look with a mix of gold necklaces (add a personal touch with Christie Martin's Long Gold Separated Disc Necklace in Gold), wearing tinted aviators to shade her peepers. As Jess wraps up her NYC fashion duties, she revealed to the press she's been hard at work on a new Christmas album to debut this holiday season: “[My assistant Cacee Cobb] is working on it with me. She A&R’ed my country record and my record before that. And I’m working with The Dream and Tricky Stewart who are amazing producers. They just did like Katy Perry’s last record." Jess confirmed she will covering more classics as she did on her last album ReJoyce, but she continued: “I’m writing as well. I’ve already had a Christmas record so I’m gonna write some new material. And there are some huge surprises that are gonna happen. Duets!” I have to admit, her duet with little sis Ashlee singing "Little Drummer Boy" still remains one of my fav Christmas songs.
